Jaques Station in Beagle Point. Is it really a good idea?

Well my test account loaded in space at Gliese 1269 this morning, it accidentally face planted a planet at high speed with no shields! One insurance screen later and I was at Azeban City in Eranin, probably the last station I stopped at before parking at Jaques.

Nothing much to report but was the planet always called this?

is there any xbox players at beagle point I would like to meet up with someone when I get there.. I should be there in about 4 to 5 days time its a pity we cant meet up with our pc counterparts..

Forgive my ignorance, are PC and Xbox totally sandboxed from each other?

Not totally - we're all in the same galaxy seeing each other's tags, doing the same CGs and effecting the same BGS. The two platforms can't be in the same instance though - not sure if that's a temporary thing or a fundamental technical issue that can never be resolved though.

This is intriguing, this situation. So what do we know so far?

GalNet report, 26th May 3302:

Two weeks ago it was announced that Jaques Station, the galaxy's most famous travelling starport, would make an incredible long-distance jump from Gliese 1269 to Beagle Point. The proposed expedition received enthusiastic support from the galactic community, which contributed thousands of tonnes of fuel to the ambitious campaign.

But despite setting off almost a week ago, no communications have been received from Jaques Station since it departed, and explorers at Beagle Point have reported no sign of the outpost.

There are a couple of theories as to what could have happened to the apparently doomed Starport.

1. Catastrophic malfunction during jump, causing Starport to breakup and destruct. Quite a possible scenario. Especially as the GalNet stated:
the starport was experiencing technical issues at the time it departed for Beagle Point.
Actions to be taken: Scan the various systems for possible wreackage in space. Near impossible task and would require hundreds of commanders to report in if they come across any possible remnants of Jaques Station.

2. Miscalculation in jump causing Starport to crash into the planet (Beagle Point A1) or worst, into the star (Beagle Point A).
Actions to be taken: Carry out a search and rescue mission of Beagle Point A1 in the hopes it crashed, rather than burnt up by colliding with the star.

3. Miscalculation in jump causing Starport to travel to an alternate destination.
Actions to be taken: Hoping it has jumped to a non hostile system, hopefully an eyewitness will make contact and report in it's actual location.

4. Starport's jump was interupted by hostile attack. There are a few culprits who could be responsible for such an act. Pirate raid, chief suspects being the Kumo Crew, although might seem a bit brazen for them, although I wouldn't put it past them. Could be a rebel attack, lashing out at past failures. The group Emperor's Dawn come to mind, bitter at their defeat at the hands of the Empire. Would seem unlikely they would stoop to such an act as it would create negative propaganda for them. The final suspects would be something far more sinister and troubling. That would be an enemy on unknown origin, possibly alien. Possibly, Thargoidian, even.
Actions to be taken: All commanders should remain vigilant, and on high alert. Report activites of all known pirate and rebel groups, ensure your ship is well armed and defended against hostile actions. Any possible Thargoidian activity must be reported as a high priority. DO NOT ENGAGE. Keep a distance, observe and report.

To sum up, whatever has happened to Jaques Station, it doesn't look good. Whether it has crashed or been destroyed, come under rebel or pirate attack, to being lost in a distant, undiscovered part of the universe, it's chances are very bleak. But if it has come under attack from a formidable foe, such as the Thargoids, then it will be a very bleak future for us all...

Just on the off chance that the above is a bit alarmist :D

There was a report that someone who had outstanding FINES to settle out at Jaque's has been seeing these flicker on his Transactions screen. Sometimes appearing and then later disappearing for seemingly random times frames.
That would point to a still active station...would it not?
.
If there is anyone else out there with outstanding financial commitments to Jaque's Station... It would be good to hear from you and your experience with this possible indicator! Thank you!

Interesting. Although a word of warning, if the Spaceport has fallen under hostile control, it could be a trap.

I think it's reasonable to assume the whole thing is a trap.
<tightens strap on foil hat>

Trap, schmap...
I think we should welcome our visitors with open arms, let them have the keys to the city (well, station) and try and keep things friendly.... unless / until they interfere with the alcohol supply then we let loose the dogs of war, cry havoc and all that violent type stuff ;)

Personally, I think if things kick off, and call it extreme if you like, but I propose we hit them hard and hit them fast with a major - and I mean major - leaflet campaign.

I would not find myself in the shoes of whom is at beagle point awaiting the coming of Jaques.

the most optimistic prevision for me is this:
