I may have missed the connection between Facebook - a giant squillionaire copmany that's done lot's of things and CIG - could you expand a little?

Mods are just forum members like everyone else, they have thoughts and opinions and are able to talk about things on the forum, just like everyone else.

They are just volunteers from the community who do a pretty thankless but welcome task.

Worth noting there's been a crap load of modding on this thread already that you may not have noticed, this is not a fun job.

Mods generally say "mod hat off" to indicate they're just expressing their opinion in a non-official capacity.

They are not "leaders of the community" or whatever else you're implying, they are literally like just you and me. Though I think the mods tend to be a bit more level-headed than your standard forum member, and mostly have been around a while.

When a mod participates in a thread then they are unable to mod said thread, mods you see participating in the discussion are prevented from modding posts to avoid any sort of perception of bias.

Just talk to them like normal people!!

And please do not "blame the community" on mods, that's pretty off man.

I think the balance is pretty well defined, you can't enter the RSI forum and talk about ED as its behind a paywall, here all you new accounts are welcome to join the debate.

Welcome back. I see you brought your hyperbole with you :) Someone posted something earlier that today was refund day and then left again. I don't think that counts as urging, does it?
Trying to imply that keeping this thread open might lead to legal action against FDev is a low blow and utterly transparent. Get your boss's lawyer to issue a cease and desist, eh?

I backed the Oculus Rift. That was the same year of the Star Citizen and ED. Since then Oculus sent me the DK1 promised AND they've brought the CV1 to market and sent me a free one.

I mention this partly to highlight how much Oculus has delivered in the same time, but mostly to gloat again about getting a free CV1.

I've done a few kickstarters and Star Citizen is the only one that still has a big question mark over when and what will get delivered. It's also the only one I know that's still actively crowd funding (apart from Pebbles bad habit of launching new watches on KS)

I've seen stuff that says that the entire script has been leaked. Is that confirmed or denied?

We're working on 2.4 right now, which will be the next major release. We don't have a date for the live release yet; we're testing it on the PTU and will go to live with it as soon as our programmers have smashed several blockers (things we consider 'must fix' issues before a wide release; in this case, mostly networking issues relating to persistence.) I know a number of streamers are in the test group, and you can follow more of the nitty gritty of the process that way.

Beyond that, folks around the company are working on content that, depending on the time it takes to implement-and-test, will go into various future patches (2.5, 2.6, etc.) and on Squadron 42... but we aren't going to tell you how great the NEXT patch is going to be (as much as we might want to!) until we get this one to you. :)

You can always kindly leave to the comforting Citizen worshiping forums on RSI. And once the game is complete return here on triumphant wave of vindication

edit: the full Star Citizen experience will be with us around the same time that our closest star (the Sun) goes supernova (approximately 3 billion years hence)
