Since the NPCs have suddenly become adept at damaging modules, I'm wondering if it's time to try B-Grading a lot of stuff? It's supposed to have more "integrity" and survive being hit a lot better, taking more damage to disable and responding with less malfunctions. It's usually ignored in favour of it's more-capable A-Grade brethren or lighter D-grade stuff, but it's possible that it's time has come.
The way I see it the Module Ratings run like this;
E - Fitted to avoid unsightly holes in brand-new spacecraft. Cheap, but very poor performance. Have only price going for them.
D - Light and low-power. The explorer's choice. Can be helpful when trying to save power or mass for other things. Fragile as heck.
C - Mid-grade and usually offers the best price/performance ratio, but don't excel in any one area.
B - Military Grade. Offers good performance and highest integrity. Often heavy, though. Takes a beating.
A - The best performance available - at a price. Not always the best option, though. Sometimes you should save the money, power or mass to use elsewhere. Not as light as D, as tough as B.
Since getting the crud smacked out of you is now a regular thing, maybe swapping some expensive A-Grade for tough B-Grade stuff would help as much as slapping on HRPs and Bulkheads? - If nothing else it will cut th rebuy cost!
