Engineers Why, why, why....

Why oh why did you dial back the AI. Now its boring as heck again. Oh look elite anaconda going to interdict me. Fine. Swing around and shoot him while he stays in front of you. At least this time he shoots back every once in a while. Can I haz a auto destroy enemy button please, its not easy enough and the credits aren't flowing in fast enough.

From finally a little bit of a challenge back to complete potato farming in a few days. At least we had some fun for a couple of days before the whine patrol got their way again and the AI are pretty much as stupid as they were before in 2.0. I guess the positive thing is they don't rotate in front of you, they just hang there and shoot back sometimes.
 
If you're a super skilled pilot looking for a challenge, why not try PvP with the pros, or fly handicapped ships?

Every good "MMO" style game needs a lot of noobs to be awesome. Having the AI drive half the playerbase away is probably not a good idea if you want a populated game :)
 
I do nothing else usually than pvp but I did love the new Ai with the modded weapon as now farming cash was fun too! that it got dialed back is very upsetting! Was a blast to fight them...
and using handicapped ships is a lot of fun in PvP but in pvE I love a challenge in my FAS and hopefully one day we get one...

Every mmo has purple mpbs and green Mobs... Elite has combat ranks... the high combat ranks should be the equivalent of a high end mob that feels like an achievement when u kill it and give better rewards... right now they all Pop like Popcorn and ist a mindnumbing to farm materials agains them. I wish it was a challenge!

Well in that case, having 5 minute fights with the AI ain't really the best use of your time then, if you want to cover your PvP expenses so you can get back to PvP?

We do farm and it should be an achievement to kill an elite or dangerous ship! but it feels boaring cause it is too easy! You want easy fo rbeginners.. thats why nps have combat ranks there are plenty of easy ships to hunt for them but us who fly with hotas and Headsets Need a cahllenge too! I want fun...

which is the Point - without the mods they are dead simple the new AI is easy - with the mods it was at least somewhat risky... now ist not I kill anything just as fast as before with the simple ai... cause ist still not enough!

And if you continued to read they removed them because they were bugged, and they will most likely put them back in once fixed and balanced.

I'm gonna join the chant that's been ringin in my ears since forever it seems: "THE AI HAVE NOT BEEN DIALLED BACK". They simply removed the mods for npc's for now like thousands of cmdrs stated before me.

Now if you'll excuse me, I'm gonna slip into my straitjacket and stare at my padded wall. 'swing low sweet chariot...'

the new ai was never the fun part! it was the fact that they almost all had modded modules... why else would it now be as easy and without threat... pfffffft .... we want the modded modules on npxs back!

That's called "covering your bases". They don't want to confirm it because in the event it doesn't/can't happen, they don't want another offline mode esque fallout.
And if you're that into masochistic combat go fly an unshielded sidewinder in a HazRex with some gold in the hold.

Got pulled over by a conda yesterday. First time ever. I tried boosting out like a fool without even realizing it just thinking it was another small fry. Big mistake.

Lost a conda plus over a couple hours worth of credits in cargo. I was furious all day but today I'm smiling because I realize for the first time I actually enjoyed myself again.

We need AI like this. There is no money sink big enough in the game yet to compensate for EASY AI. Until you give all those traders something to spend their billions on, we need AI like this. I would even say raise all insurance costs for more of a ball ache.

Only your enemy can give you the knowledge needed for survival.

While I too am sad that the AI got dialed back and I really wished that people just dealt with it, the community spoke and I am very happy that fdev listened to the majority, because maybe that means they will listen to some more ideas and fix the real issues with the update, imo and along with many others.

Sadly majority rules, even when you or I may disagree, otherwise most people wouldn't like the game.

All in all I say let's hope that the sacrifice was not in vain and the real issues that the community has been pointing out are looked at.

Not all of us are in FAS's and the modded AI FAS's with 2 large PL and 2 Med Rail Guns was a little much for non-combat modded Simi-Trade-aconda with a 21 Mill buyback,carrying a 404 tons of cargo......Nothing you could do against it...can't run....can't jink for beans in a conda cant low wake or high wake because they would take your shields out so fast (tier 6 Shields with 7 boosters) then the, one two, punch of weapons and ramming to your power plant and boom.....wasn't a lot of fun.....Did I mention the 21 Mil buy back cost?

I have just the thing for you to request from FD. Back in the day when I played Falcon 3/F15, they had a kind of a training module that you can pick any plane in the game and pick any load out you wanted and then do the same for your opponents. You could even chose multiple opponents. I would guess when you jump into this simulator module, you would be immediately interdicted. In the flight sims there are no points, but I suppose in this case it could be setup casino like. You bet the ship cost you setup and based on how difficult you make you enemies, your able to generate in game credits if you win. If you just want to fight, no need bothering us and I don't mind you getting the points because you if you were in our universe, you'd get them any way. Now you can practice, farm credits, have a decent challenge, and be able to get back to beating up your friends. How does this sound?
