The only advice I have that might help is to check mission boards where you are at least Friendly with one of the factions. This gives you access to more missions and some of the better/rarer rewards seem to require you to have a good relationship with the faction offering the mission.

Took me 10 hours to get my first ones. A few mode cycles, then do a few missions. Repeat.
Some say HiTech is best - I got mine from a delivery mission, not a mining one.
Some say you need to be Friendly or Above - In theory you can see the missions you do not qualifty for, and I never saw any in those.
I did get a yummy FSD3 out of it... eventually. Heavy Python now gets 18.8 on a full tank.

FYI I have had 1 Delivery mission from TZ ARI, and 1 Fecth from Wolf 359now im in ur shoes, where is ur home system?
Yeah apparently I went back to my home system as well after staying in Deciat for 2 days. Went back to home system and voila, all of the materials that I needed are in missions. Did all of it and got myself a nice FSD Grade 3 for Corvette. She's now jumping at 14Ly lol

One should let that sink in. 10 hours to get the first one. For players with little play time, this could be actual weeks with no progress whatsoever. Also, then having to search/wait/mode switch to even find the appropriate mission. I think commodities should rather be removed from all engineer blueprints, and no material should be mission-only, either (if such a thing even exists in the first place - I don't honestly know).
