Engineers The Dweller marketing is not working.

I dont know if this is an bug, missing feature, or if I am doing something wrong.
I have access to the Dweller, did some marketing at the station, but I cant see any improvement at the eng reputation ?
I tried to sell every commodity at the screen, tried to sell in big qtds, nothing seems to improve the reputation, what am I missing ?

You have to get upgrades from him to improve your rep and unlock other upgrades, to do this you have to search for mats etc for the upgrade you want, pain in the backside really.

You get rep with engineers by buying upgrades from them, not by trading commodities.

First you need an invite from the engineer, which you already have. Then there is an inital requirement to establish contact. For the dweller this is having traded at five black marketss. That puts you start at level one. When when you've had enough upgrades you get to level two, and so on. Upgrades are obtained by gathering the materials listed and providing them to the engineer.

Dont listen to them, you can upgdrade your lvl by selling commodity, but its based on profit, not on quantity. I'm selling 728t of auto fabricators to him and profit is 420k and it gives me 5% lvl increase at lvl 3. Try to relog after you sell your cargo, if there's no change, you're bugged

5% for half a million.......urgh, I think just farming up the mats for lvl 3 stuff might be less painful. Good to know though.

See the people above pretending to know how the game works, they're wrong. Ignore them.

The dweller, lei cheung, Zachariah Nemo, liz ryder, selene Jean and maybe others we don't know yet can all be repped up by trade. Over 700 tonnes in a Cutter is the way to do this.

Yes, you are right, restarting the game did the trick ! Thanks friend.

On the "nothing moves after I handed something in" issue :

Beware that either selling Exploration Data or Commodities to Rep up with an Engineer can have a delay before the Reputation % is actually increased.
(most notable when selling Exploration Data via individual Systems ; this seems to work the fastest when using the Sell Page function)
Instant Reputation increase is only seen when crafting upgrades.

Essentially, the delay is the same you normally have when selling other Reputation-relevant stuff anywhere (Bounties, Map Data, Commodities). Takes a moment to register and transform into Reputation (or i.e. Exploration Rank) increases.

So all it takes is a little patience, but it can be upto a few Minutes.

If in a hurry or seeing a big delay : try leaving the Instance and come back; alternatively quitting to Menu and relogging usually works as well.
(same applies if one has just unlocked the Engineer and is now missing Universal Cartographics or the Commodities Market in the Station Menu, which likely don't appear immediately - same tricks as above then typically work and everything appears as expected)

As others have said, trade does work, but it works on Profit, not Bulk transfer.
You need to quit to menu and re-load, or just wait (too long) to see how much effect it has but to save you the trouble...

Level 1 > 2 takes roughly 5,100cr Profit in trades per 1%
Level 2 > 3 takes roughly 20,350cr Profit in trades per 1%
Level 3 > 4 takes roughly 79,700cr Profit in trades per 1%. Gave me an invite to Lei Cheung at around 35% (what I was aiming for)

Don't know about Level 4 > 5 as I stopped once I got my referral :)

But can Bounties be traded for rep with Tod "The Blaster" McQuinn? When I tried it did not seem to work.

Glad to help Wasp0.
The profits are low for normal commodities so if you don't have a bulk trader, you may be better off chasing rares etc.
However, with my 496 tonne capacity ship I was shifting Indium from DUAMTA/Polyakov.
.
The same approach works for Lei Cheung.
Here I've started shifting Thorium from KOKOLLER/Blodgett's Folly after the initial unlock donation of 200 gold.
.
I don't have good level requirement numbers yet as I noticed the 10% position in the CG only needed 2,000 tonnes to secure so I've nipped over there for nab a position before it closes in an hour :) ( nearly 7 million for 45 mins work as Coffee is available close by so well worth it if you are quick )

Brilliant, thank you muchly. I am starting my trip to the Engineers maybe this evening, and this will help enormously.

Same with 'The Blaster'. Your rep is supposed to increase by handing in Alliance bounties, I submitted 1.5 million worth this morning and received no reputation increase.

You have taken some mistaken information. There is a lot around as we all try to get our facts straight to help each other out.
To unlock him he will take absolutely ANY bounties (great if you have dozens of pathetic amounts from all over in your transactions tab).
After this, he will only accept the annoyingly rare 'Tod specific' bounties, not general Alliance bounties.
It would probably be faster to take the low-level mods route to butter him up instead.
.
It has been suggested this limit to only his bounties may be a bug, but it sounds reasonable to me.
Its also rumoured that being good at Arena may help too (read his bio), but I have no intention of doing that.
