Vacation is not a "reward for success"; heck, in many countries it is a legal right. I don't know enough about the story to tell whether maybe the timing was unfortunate, but claiming that the man shouldn't deserve vacation because SC is not yet finished or buggy or whatever - that is just ridiculous.

Odd time to take a Holiday, you must admit.

Over here it is not only a right but enforced by Health and Safety regulations
You accrue too many holiday hours owing, you get a holiday, you don't get a choice if or when.
Otherwise lots of fines get levied

I'm not saying if or when CR need or can / cannot take a vacation. However there are people in Europe and the US who do not have vacations because they own the company, and need to take care of business.

The first company I started, there was no vacation for 3 years. Sometimes that is just how life is.

The whole Chris Roberts on vacation thing, seems more like a bad PR move.
Of course he is allowed to have vacation and not be scrutinized for it.

But he (and Sandi) needs to accept the fact, that they are the faces of a company. Posting news related to the company aka - anything Star Citizen related, and private stuff on the same Twitter account is just bad PR practice.

And yet those two are supposed to be the "King and Queen" of PR..... However all I've seemed to have seen with whatever news has been coming out from CiG for the past 18 months has been a continuous stream of PR mishaps and "misunderstandings", one after the other.
