Powerplay So FDev have announced Archon Delaine will Collapse

First thing first, its nice for there to be an announcement, and not just have it happen without anyone knowing a collapse was imminent.

But it does seem like strange news to receive, because other than the Galnet article, there is no evidence of collapse.

Here are the official "rules of the game"

The time period is still vague, no one knows how many weeks without an expansion one of the Powers in the bottom 3 can go without collapsing, but it is very clear what a Power in the bottom three can do to ensure they are not at risk of collapse.
"It also has to fail to achieve any expansion during the cycle"

Last cycle it was nearly impossible for both Delaine and Antal to earn merits at their expansions.
I say nearly, because this bug was fixed with 12 hours left in the cycle.
This allowed (just) Delaine to expand to the system of Vvo 19.

So if the requirements of collapse are to be in the bottom 3, and not expand, why is the only power in the bottom 3 which didn't meet these requirements collapsing? (Both Antal and Patreus failed to expand and Patreus is even in Turmoil)

*EDIT

Here is what I believe is the expansion history from the past 10 cycles for the 3 bottom powers

this must mean then the winner of the Rise to power games get the systems of the power that will collapse.

It says on the brink of Collapse. Collapse may not be confirmed yet.

Pfft. This is prescripted.

They can't even bring themselves around to being able to explain to anyone how it happens or what the requirements are.

The question has to be asked why they will not clarify the collapse requirements. Why is Archon Delaine in danger of collapse if he has had a better run than the two other bottom three powers recently (in terms of expansions gained).

In fact, on what basis is Archon Delaine in danger of collapse?

Can we get some dev logic on this?

I mean, the only thing I can consider is that they're finally coming through on that extended period of non-growth (caused by a bug) that happened months ago

Guys this is just a GalNet article and it clearly says speculation. Its not an official FD statement. We've read galent articles about winters seeing the creators of stuff and that was just tosh too. Take it easy.

You asked FDev if now was the best time to "announce that" in the other topic.
You know why we're a little bit annoyed. Even if this is not an announcement of an imminent collapse, it has the potential to make people THINK we're about to.

True, it could also mean that whoever is in 10th place will automatically collapse, no matter the circumstances at the time - and since Archon is in 10th (or I assume he is), that's why he's getting the negative press right now. Although one would hope if that is what is going to happen, that they at least tell people in advance. Although I'm not sure I would bet on it.

Being told in advance would be nice since we're basing it on the information provided in the original post, none of which mention 10th place being automatic criteria for collapse.

FD, you better explain properly about this shenanigan if you're going to collapse Archon. I don't coordinate anymore, but I've kept an eye on Archon's activities, there's no basis to collapse Archon without collapsing other powers.

Power Play is already not a super popular activity, tread carefully.

The main question we're asking is simply:
"How do you play a game in which you don't know all the rules and only discover them once it's too late to fall foul of them?"

Or "FDev does this mean we're collapsing for certain and if so, can you let us know why please? Thanks."

The thing regarding this whole situation is that we have not been given a definite answer on what the collapse requirements are.
Now if we go on what hear say we have that it is be in the last 3 and not expand for (x) weeks:

CycleDelaineAntalPatreus

49HIP 103138-Ehi
50Arakwibut-V374 Pegasi

52Vvo 19-

So we look at the last 10 cycles and who has expanded more than anyone else in the bottom 3. By Fdevs "rules" for collapse, I do believe that should be Antal is the closest to collapse not Archon. Now these are stats that fdev have themselves so why say it is Archon. This has been a pre-ordained collapse of the "bad guy" of the universe.

This is seemingly more like we have screwed their narrative up and they are still going to do it
