Interdictions.. what?

Players with higher rankings, well we can't fart without an NPC trying to interdict their way through the brief opening.

Hahaha. Dang it. I can't +rep you again. And since my Imperial Clipper incident (back in 2.0) I've reset my save several times. So the game thinks I'm only competent.[hotas]

For those asking.. I am Elite, Tycoon, Trailblazer.

Another fun thing.. So here I am mat gathering on planets in my 32LY jump ASP Explorer when I'm interdicted by an elite FDL named Bubbles. Ok. Submit..boost... high wake to my next jump 31 LY away. Upon arrival.. guess who is waiting for me. Bubbles. In his FDL. Now.. unless FDL's got a massive boost to their jump range recently... something is off and this game's spawn system needs some serious work. Oh ..I think he wanted the ONE piece of leather in my hold.

I don't know about you guys, but every time. Exit glide mode and try to land and have an npc almost immediately jump in behnd me and scan me. They don't shoot if my cargo is empty, but it's really weird that EVERY time, someone pops up behind me. Oh,and they stick around for a few minutes like they at waiting for me to take off with cargo. What the heck?

Anyone else have that happen? Or have random npcs slow-boat over the surface while you are in your srv?

I've had them come over and scan me just as I was lifting off the surface, with no cargo at all. I checked and they were Clean, so I started to fly off. They made no demands, just suddenly opened fire. It's extremely bogus in my opinion.

And no I wasn't wanted, or hostile, or in Powerplay, or on a mission.

Exactly what happened to me and the annoying thing is that it was an Elite ImpEagle and took me ages to destroy only to get a measly 600Cr - his bounty for opening fire on me - real pain in the posterior.

So.. On my way to the Dweller to do 3 upgrades to some pulse lasers. On a 12 jump trip .. interdicted 9 times. All by elite ships. For 3 units of Samarium. Is this the thing now?

yep. Great job Frontier. Once again you proove you have zero QAS department. Because who needs to assure quality?

At first I thought JFC we have a ton of crybabies on here. But simple truth is there is no profession now which doesn't subject you to money losses. Trading is a mixed bag, mining, they jump you over a small qty of cargo, jumping into a system, well that is a roll of the dice too. What is the deal? Why do we have to face this EVERY DAMN TIME WE DO ANYTHING? Isn't mining I mean, since you've nerved the bull out of it, supposed to be the safe option? What I dislike is filling up, about 3/4 of the way and then being engaged by a Dangerous Imperial clipper and being blown out of the damn sky for OSMIUM. I mean its what the missions call for and its not that valuable itself but the AI acts like a griefer now. . I guess the only thing to do is quit or grind up to FDL and load up to the bore. I just dont see how to grind up when anything I do costs me more than it earns.

Say gitgud right. Well playing the game since the 13th of May I have been doing just that. Notice this: I was good before the update. I was making money in every profession and now costs of playing the game exceed the money making ability of my skills and ships. I am not a terrible pilot or even poor. I'm a 85% Competent Fighter Pilot and a 46% Broker Trader, with 83% Surveyor. I just don't understand what avenue is the money maker now.

In short, FRONTIER the RISK versus the REWARD STILL NEEDS TO BE TWEAKED! 6-2-2016!

Still playing but not having fun.

Still Thinking about quitting.

Sure its all fun and games if you are loaded up with a Conda and or an FDL but if you are in an ASP you shouldn't be coming under the type of firepower or attention you are in the game. PLEASE DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT. THANK YOU FOR YOUR READ!

I was flying my ASPx and was interdicted by an adder. Didn't want to do the boost stuff so I played the mini game and was at full blue waiting for the interdiction avoided message then BOOM they won. I was so mad I just took him out. Is there an engineer upgrade that caused this?

Hahaha..

I met a buddy in open space last night so she could give me an MA and when I jumped back into SC to take it back to the Engineer I was instantly messaged by a pirate who pointed out that I had some delicious cargo. This crap is ridiculous.

IKR, dont give the players the massive content update you promised just ramp up the ai and give them cheats on top of doing nothing to improve missions which are STILL borked and broken. I didnt buy into horizons so I didnt get burned but IF I had, I would be miffed right now :)

I just exit to the main menu when i get interdicted. The 15 secs are counted down before my shields get down.

Iam a trader, i have no time for npc pirates and time is money.

Players with lower ranks seem to have a problem with not being interdicted at all. Players with higher rankings, well we can't fart without an NPC trying to interdict their way through the brief opening.

noob here, just started playing 2 weeks ago. I get interdicted a lot, and have been destroyed 5 times when I had no cargo and was not Wanted. I've been destroyed when I wasn't even on a mission, I was just getting used to being in my ship!

Its just rinse and repeat. I haven't found a way to make more money faster than I am losing in ships. I have a T7 and an ASP Explorer and a Viper Mk3. Since the update. I've lost at least 2 ships a day, and it offsets my ability to make any headway on profit.

Prior to Update: Profitable in anything I do.
Post Update: Killed constantly, I can't be profitable in anything I do.

I'm not a terrible pilot.

But I am always over matched in whatever I'm doing vs the NPCs and as a player I'm sick of it.

My wing doesn't want to hear about it, yet they don't have any real solutions. Also find that disappointing. This is a cycle of negativity that I'm very sure is occurring across the community of players.

Mining gets you killed. As long as you have 1 ton of anything they are on you every 30 min now be you in a RES or not. SCREW THAT.

Hauling gets you killed. As long as you make 1 of 3 jumps are guarantee interdiction. Yes you can run away, and you do. Yet you still get shield penetrations with missiles and cannons on your six. Even loaded with chaff to the brim its a slaughter.

Trading. Same thing as hauling.

Bounty hunting. Ok so back in my Viper or Cobra, constant canopy breeches. I mean HELLO! Do you want me to do to make money and keep playing or just die alot?

This rinse and repeat on a constant credits slide is leading me to get ready to quit. I don't want to write the I quit post but I am definitely taking a few days off ED. Also know, I am not buying Horizons with this gameplay!

Nor is anybody going to actively recruit their friends to play until Frontier gets off their ass and balances it so guys rated Competent aren't facing down Elites/Dangerous/Masters everywhere they go doing anything in the game.

It was fun until the update. I was profitable until the update. I've written a half dozen posts about how unfun and excessively challenging it is.

Is anybody listening at Frontier?

What is the player retention plan?

Horizons dropped, I played for 4 hours and decided it was the biggest waste of money I spent that year. Didn't play again until 2 weeks ago. Planetary landings now with the engineers makes sense, but we got the toolbox without the parts we were supposed to assemble. And some could still argue this is the case.
I want elite to be fun. I really, really do. But I'm still finding it hard to be entheusiastic about it.
And having to pay for season 2 beta (i didn't) after already paying for season 1 beta/ early access really rubbed me the wrong way. Total money grab and nothing else.

It appears the devs have realized that some things are not quite right, and some steps have already been taken to restore some sort of balance. I have not been attacked so far today, though I'm only flying my FAS, which is the ship I have that appear best equipped for dealing with these encounters.

I've also been told that support can reimburse any significant losses caused by broken NPCs behavior, bugged weapons (aka the 5 second encounters) etc. I certainly hope that is true, because I ultimately could not cover the rebuy of my Python and have asked to at least have the cost of the ship and upgrades reimbursed. We'll see how that goes.

Might i enquire as to combat, and trade rank? Also have you been carrying cargo today while not being interdicted?
