Engineers Anaconda + Destination Change = Fail

These missions that change your destination to turn in your cargo are driving me bonkers.[knocked out]

After almost a full year of playing, I have finally got myself a well kitted Anaconda, and just days before 2.1 hit, but now those blasted destination changes are killing me. They keep changing the destination to outposts I can't land at... So far, the biggest fine was just shy of 1 mil credits.

Now everytime I look at the cool new mission board I'm all like [where is it] ... Because half of them will stick me in the end.

I know I can transfer cargo to other ships now, but I have no other ship with cargo since I sold my Python when kitting out the Anaconda... Do I really need to shelve my awsome new ship in order to do missions? ...

I love this game, but this is making me rage like I never have before with ED.

Yeah I would be pretty upset about that. I've mostly been doing missions in my Vette though and have not had one of these missions yet but I would not be happy about it.

Ouch. The main issue I've had is pretty much every "mission critical" update to get the goods there faster has given me "0:00" to do it. Yeah, I'll get right on that...and then momentarily I get the "we were hoping you'd do a better job" message. Pff :)

Yeah I'm suffering too. I've raised a bug report, hopefully it'll get looked at.

+1 for the report :D

Haven't had that one yet, but I have been on a role lately & will probably get there shortly... Man they made this game rather realistic ;)

This has happened to me twice today, screwed me over both times... came here to rant but, i'll just rep your post instead!

Pretty sure the science would show that the act of getting and receiving of rep is medicinal for frustration. So back at ya.

This has just happened to me today. A mission transporting 99 battle weapons for a juicy 1.3m, easy money. Mission changes when I arrive at designated system, redirected to another system....outpost. I'm in a type 7 and have no way to complete the mission. I can sell the cargo on the black market to recoup my losses when I inevitably get scanned and fined at the next station but it's the loss of rep that's the pain. I've spent ages trying to build it up and now it's going to take a severe hit through no fault of my own. This isn't a bug, it's careless oversight.

Returning player. This sounds quite bad but not sure what it is. Are the missions now by design RNG for destination?

or is there some specific mission type in which destination can or will change mid mission?

WOW!

I never thought about that! I'm currently in a Python, still not able to afford a ship that can't land everywhere. I get a ton of mission reward location changes too, and some of them are indeed on an Outpost and not a Starport where the mission was originally issued.

Reminds me of when I was on Xbox One and I was getting a change to a Planetary base! This was long before the XB1 had Horizons! ;)

Well, if your mission is to deliver something to somewhere, securely and just in time, maybe a truck is not the best tool for a job. If you saw for example "The Transporter" movie, Jason Statham was using neither M1A2 Abrams nor the large truck with fancy paintbrush. :)

It seems that from 2.1 every ship has a place as a proper tool for certain kind of job.

P.S. I have Conda too, but it never comes to my mind to use the pregnant whale for a fast cargo delivery mission. Not in 2.1, not in 1.3 simply never.

Ok, answering my own question from above - unless the RNG gods are being very kind to me at moment, it appears missions that are of type - deliver x to y are not affected.

but missions of bring x to y are RNG destination change eligible (with what seems very high probability a destination change will happen). Basically these are the sourcing missions - source x units of coffee or whatever and bring back to station you picked up mission all except now of course the new destination could be as op stated, ineligible for landing in larger ships.

I know exactly how you feel, it's happened to me twice in my Anaconda. I've also been switched to a station in the system next door 250,000 ls away....and a gunship chased me the entire way.
Whoever was sitting around the planning table that thought this was a fun idea needs to be thrown out a window. I vote for taking these destination swaps out...or if they want to keep them, make sure it switches you to an appropriately sized pad (a fat bonus wouldn't hurt either).

Have some rep hombre

Why would you not use a large ship if you wanted? You can trade commodities while stacking transport missions and drop into a USS or two in your fortress for spare materials. Its good for you that you have your way of doing something in a sandbox game, but it doesn't change the fact that someone goofed when they implemented this "fun" new feature.

Your right; why would I ever use my whale of a multipurpose ship with butt tones of cargo & survival capabilities for hauling cargo ....... Anyway

The destination change has happened on all mission types that involve cargo for me: Go salvage this, Take this and go... Ect.

Also just accepted an assassination mission I abandoned when the mission parameters changed on the way; suddenly needed a wake scanner I didn't have... That last one isn't so bad considering I could technically stop & get one, so it isn't a definite mission fail based on a random roll of the dice, but they made a point to add into the mission details what you may need, and the random mission changes that happen after the fact, don't take into account what you have and or are even capable of; such as the destination changes.

I really like the curve balls missions can throw your way; that was a nice touch, but the fact that they made a point to make things more transparent by telling you before you accept the mission what you may need for it, and then randomly roll the dice part way through & you suddenly find yourself needing something you don't, and or, can't have.. Kind of negates it.

In my experiance so far, most if not all missions have a random chance of getting a curve ball thrown in. That's a pretty cool addition, but it dosent take into account what you have, and that can result in no choice but to abandon.

How can I transfer cargo between ships ?
It is automatic - as long as the new ship you are swapping into has same or greater cargo capacity as your current used cargo space. If you have more cargo on hand than the ship you want to swap into can hold. It won't let you.

You took a mission where we all knew about changes, trade with your annie and get a mission capable ship. GEEZ A bug report. LOL Missions have always taken you to orbitals and outpost, nothing new there.
