Shinies Are Shinier

Found my first Earth-like world in 2.1. Think they are getting even shinier.

Btw, be careful on Windows; previous "throttle to zero" appreciated feature has been 'fixed'. Nearly face-planted a star...

Another shiny for the list:
Neutron star schematics (the thing to the left of the sensor - don't know the official name) are smaller than before, and they spin really fast. It's a nice touch.

Yep, I noticed there's this new "glow spot" on a lot of the ocean/earthlikes. Not sure why/when it appears but it's kinda ugly. Bug?

Grrrrrr, 2% hull loss due to forum surfing and expecting ED to kill my throttle. Observation indicates that behaviour is inconsistent - I'm damn sure that my throttle was cut to zero last night but am not sure exactly what had focus when it happened (forum, Captain's Log, email or A N Other application).

Best thing to do if you still want it is to set up a macro for your jump key that also hits your x key (zero throttle) after about 15 seconds. That... or use the Voice Attack "Safety Jump" :)

On a jonking trip to get to my cardinal points so throttle is at 100%, the safety feature was useful to compensate for pilot stupidity but prefer not to use the X key unless in a black hole / neutron star area (and then its compulsory!!).

The nasty thing about this is that even if you have a physical throttle control (on a HOTAS, for instance) and close it on jump, you'll sometimes come out of jump and accelerate. It seems to be related to tabbing out of the app. Every time I've seen it I've been tabbed out of the app chatting with someone or something.

Yup, love how the star reflects of the water of ELW and WW. Great improvement and adds a lot to the reality. I even believe that the colour of the reflected sunlight matches the star that produced it...

As for throttle to zero...never used it (always blast into the system as full speed). But I did notice that coming back out of debug cam now doesn't drop you to zero...so both 'fixed' apparently.

PS How is Cmdr R1nzl3r doing these days? ;)

I map "0% Throttle" to D-Pad Left while exploring. Nuke the site from orbit, it's the only way to be sure.

It can be a bit strong at times. Found a WW that looked like a giant eyeball in space due to this. Think it was a really bright A star. I've never seen a pic of Earth where the sun's reflection was visible like that. Seems very unrealistic to me, due to that.

Maybe they could make an option in the Graphics settings, called, "Polarized Helmet Visor" that turns off glare. I realize it's a personal preference. Maybe get RayBan to sponsor it, get some of that co-branding cash, and sell real-life Elite Dangerous/RayBan pilot sunglasses for $149.99 on their store.

The intensity of the the light reflecting may be defined by proximity and intensity of the star. I haven't seen one that I didn't think looked realistic.

Space eyeball. If you look closely you can also see some anomalous cross-hatch lines in the reflection, which is probably a bug, but it makes the rendering appear unnatural. Still an amazingly beautiful game; I know I'm being kind of picky. But I know Frontier likes to get this kind of feedback so they can make fine-tuning tweaks and improvements.

Discovered my first ELW last week and yes, the shine makes the planet looks gorgeous. When I saw the shine on the water all I wanted to do was fly above it and admire the view

I've been meaning to post about these shiny white blobs on planets in supercruise, I hate to complain...

But seriously, the planets now look like highly reflective plastic balls in space with the over driven white reflection - or whatever it is.

Doesn't look natural, but alas, I don't really have experience seeing a planet from space, so . . . /shrug.

in fact, all of the lighting just seems over driven now. My Gold Asp, and Chrome Vulture don't look anything like they did in 2.0. (which was better imho)
