Night Vision Equipment?

Last night, perhaps unwisely, I ended my session still in the SRV (I was having fun).
I just logged-in to find the SRV in total darkness:

Not only that, it seemed to be in some sort of 'bog' as it had sunk under the surface on one side and would not move in any direction - except upwards when I used the thrusters.
Anyway, I recalled the Asp to navigate towards its lights and - it landed just 50m in front of me!!!

I have never had such a close recall - how thoughtful to avoid me driving recklessly in the dark ;)

Next time log off, then log in on the non-horizons version(will put your SRV back in ship in orbit). Many a time I left SRV parked on a planet and as soon as I logged in next time it was falling through planet(so a quick logoffski is in order) :)

True ! :) I have recalled ship in the past in mountainous region, and watched it come down as best it could and just get stuck hovering off the ground at an angle. I somehow managed to get under it and board a ship that wasn't landed :)

I am 60k ly out and lost a SRV couple night ago by logging out with it on the surface....fell through the planet. I forgot about the logging in non-horizons to recover and lost the buggy....not a huge loss but no more logging on or near planets anymore.

same here. i always logg off and back on when it happens. If it happens again then i just boost like hell to get above the surface. Just try not to hit one of those rocks above you. they hurt :)
