The forums have been a very caustic place to be lately, far more so than usual. Criticism is fine and in fact necessary, but it needs to be polite, measured and, above all, constructive.
Exactly what I was trying to say, thanks! I have nothing against criticism. I have everything against entitled whining and insulting though. Criticise whatever you deem needs criticising. Just be civil and keep your emotions in check so people can have a healthy discussion about it. How is it going to help the developers if you act like they set out to make you miserable?
I swear this forum will turn me into a conspiracy nut. I'm starting to believe there is a PR firm or something at work here either trying to extort money from FD or trying to paint them in a bad light so other space games may have a chance against theirs. I know this isn't the case and people are probably genuinely complaining but somehow that feels even more sad to me.
I believe this to be a bot but the grammar mistakes make me wonder.to much RNG and grinds. FRONTIER should seriously consider those points !
More in reply to your earlier comments but remember that the same people don't complain about both sides of an argument (or they shouldn't) so when they buffed the AI a large group of people who were happy with that status quo suddenly find the rugs been pulled out from under them and the fundamentals of the game became much harder. The people who wanted better AI are satisfied but a whole host of people that are now unhappy with the extra difficulty arrive to voice their concerns instead.
Difficulty will always bring out the worst in people because its hard to find a happy medium but its integral to your player experience, they also threw in a whole host of new mechanics with very poor explanations/implementations which frustrates more people and the default internet stance for expression of dislike is full on rage
I can't imagine how much 2.1 would frustrate me if the community didn't literally catalog all the data for us and I wasn't willing to google almost every feature to try and identify whats going on, I imagine many people are in that boat.
On the other hand: so many people here are making these 'I am a casual and cant solo hazres anymore, plz fix!' posts, and that has nothing to do with 'finding a balance'. These are just whiny self-centered people who demand the entire game is balanced exactly around their skills, rather than simply accepting there should be places for all skill levels. I havent seen 'hardcore' players complain that 'its too easy solo'ing a Nav Beacon in High-sec in a Corvette', it would be nice if the 'casuals' could do the same.
Oh great, another 'casual' upset about not being able to 'casually' do the hardest RES, and resorting to accusing AI of cheating as a result.
That's sounds cool, where can I get them?Well, to be fair, in the news letter today, FDev said that: "it turns out that a networking issue inadvertently gave NPC AIs a loophole, which they ruthless exploited, to merge weapon stats and abilities creating never before seen, devastatingly effective, Engineers-enhanced weaponry."
So something was indeed screwy. I'm not talking the improved AI, but the weapons and upgrades they had. They were apparently getting combining multiple engineer upgrades into a single weapon or something.
NPC-s most likely just do not have such things like heat or ammo, which are replaced by artifical limitations in their behaviour. They do not use multiple SCB-s at a time and do not spam them nonstop, there are delays between activations.Other than the NPC SCB spamming with no heat issues I'm fine with the new AI. That said, the no heat issues is a MAJOR flaw IMHO. If I use one SCB without a heatsink in my FAS, temperature soars from 33% to 94%. To compound the issue, FD changed the player SCB deployment to one SCB even if you have two SCB banks installed in different slots. That alone makes heatsinks use a waste of time, as you will be out of heatsinks once one SCB bank is used up. If you carry two heatsink banks, that mean dropping one of your shield booster slots = weaker shields, which on the FAS are weak to start with.
I feel other way. I think that there is a lot of people defending Frontier and elite and can't understand why others are unhappy whit what they got. Its okey to say you liked what was in 2.1. But if others say that they don't like it then don't go there to say get gud and that there isn't any problem when clearly they think there is a problem. They don't come hear to dislike elite they come here because they think they got fun they had before taken away and want it back.
It isn't wrong to ask for easier npc if you enjoyed it more than current npc. I personally enjoy new harder npc, but I rather have people have fun with npcs they like rather than get killed by harder npc that they didn't ask for. Frontier didn't need to take their enjoyment away to give me harder and more challenging npc. Same to other direction there should be harder npc option for those who want them.
100% agree to OP. I'm a casual player and cannot afford losing more of my hard earned credits. Not having fun.
W. It makes me think about doing other stuff instead of even bothering, like watching some TV or taking the pooch for a walk![]()
'pooch' means dog, but I prefer 'hound' myself. As a non english speaker what is a pooch : a dog or a pillow ?
