We're disappointed in you CMDR, please deliver the goods anyway...

I'll get straight to the point; something needs to be done about 'rush jobs' with impossible delivery windows. We're talking maybe six seconds to make it from the SC drop off point to the docking pad. I've had the mission menu take longer to open than that!

The most annoying part is the condescending little messages the NPCs send you, berating your inability to deliver cargo 'on time' which you then have to manually erase so your message tab doesn't get clogged. SMH.

They are clearly bugged, so don't take the reprimands to heart :)
I expect that when they have sorted the big bugs, they will get on to the little ones like this.

Hi

Are you saying that now even when you run out of time you can still deliver and get less of a fine that fully failing? If so bugs aside this is a big improvement imo

They're pitched as a bonus to the mission, so even if you fail the time you still get the main mission rewards.

Which is just as well when you are given a target time of 0m0s!

You must be a [noob] if you cant go from Supercruise to landing pad in 5 seconds. I do it all the time.
I am also a compulsory liar :p
Leaving now bye bye ;)

Cheers Cmdr's

This is something FDev are aware of. I had a few missions with impossible timers, including one where I arrived at the station, got the rush job e-mail, but with a deadline of 0H 0M. I may be quick, but I cannot go back in time!

The bonus is just that; a bonus. The job might pay 100Kcr (which will be paid if you make the agreed deadline), but the bonus is if you manage to get the job done sooner (within a secondary deadline). Fail to hit the main deadline and you will get fined.

I know failing to make the 0h0m deadline isn't going to negatively effect my reputation or the normal rewards, and I really hope FD are already aware of this. I just really had to vent my frustration as damn near every time I get these rush-job updates they give some impossible window of opportunity. I'd like to be able to actually earn that extra money, not just watch it go up in smoke as I furiously boost towards the station :)

I was about to start a thread, then noticed this one.

This happened only moments ago as I write this.

Paraphrase "Please deliver goods in timely manner for bonus"; a few seconds later ""We're sorry you didn't deliver on time"; wait, wut?!

I wonder if failing the impossible optional bit borks the rest of the mission, as the faction I'm supporting is going down, even though the mission results say it's going up. There are other players in the system, so it may be them working against me.

Yeah, happens to me all the time as I'm grinding missions for Imperial rep. It'll be a nice mechanic when it's working. Personally I'm for more little mechanics like this as it breathes a little bit of life into the universe. I'm hoping at some futue point factions start reaching out to tell us about missions rather than it all being done vie the mission board.

Dunno. Whether the BGS is working after an update is like a trip to the engineers. I reported an issue where I was getting a negative message on mission completion and was told it's working as intended. Sadly, it usually takes a while before people realise something's wrong with the BGS, usually by that time every system's been FUBARed and all the work people have put in has been lost.

I have a mission that I cant even hand in, made it well within the time frame etc and no option to deliver and yes I am at the right place.

It's a joke that 2.1 was suppose to be a missions fix but it's still broke in many ways. I'm not even sure why fdev have a beta anymore when every update seems like a rush to release even when it was pushed back to begin with.

Let me guess, you were re-directed during the mission ?
If so, known bug....cost me a 2.8 mil fine the other day.

Edit: According to yesterdays patch notes (which i only just remembered to have a look at), this particular issue should now be fixed.

Yeah, I had a similar situation before the patch where the delivery was redirected to an outpost when I was flying a Clipper, so I couldn't complete it and had to pay the fine.
