Riduculous RNG >RNG > RNG grinding. Make MODs buyable.

On planets that have random spawns that generate a random cargo type and you may need to kill 3 skimmers and get fined only to get close enough to even scan what the cargo is and then get it back to the Engineer for another random MOD. It's just way too much randoms to get what you need if you are in the right place already as it suggests to you, e.g. an ice or a rocky planets. There should be enough reason for them to be guarding what we are looking for and not waste our time.

Have you considered NOT shooting the clean skimmers?

There are usually plenty of smuggler cargo drops on landable planets with outposts around them, you shouldn't need to go getting all wanted.

What material are you looking for anyway? We might be able to tell you somewhere easier to find it - it's not as RNG as it appears

Ah, I see, I guess theres an engineer that wants those new commodities only found on surface POI I haven't run across yet. Tough you don't have to kill the skimmers, as long as you don't stay too long in the red zone you can race and scoop through it taking the stuff that way, have done that a lot.

I agree CMDR, we can still let those that want to hunt and gather to make them for themselves while we can enjoy supporting FD via IRL funds of something we can functionally value rather than another paintjob.

You want the upgraded modules, put in the time. Can't be bothered to put in the time, tough luck.

To add, it really isn't that much effort after doing a bit of forum reseach, and you don't have to become wanted either, I have 4 grade 5 fsd's and 3 grade 3 dirty drives already, and I work full time, so.....

Quoted for truth.

A mentality of being handed everything on a silver platter. An expectation of not having to work for something. This is laziness. Pure and simple.

Would be nice, would avoid a lot of wasted time.

  1. Double or tripple the cost of the base weapon or module (maybe forgo insurance on them)
  2. Expensive ship rebuys.

Fine by me.

Sad but true - I've offered to help him and it was just ignored. Hasn't even told us what he's looking for so he can get suggestions

It's not hard to do at all. In fact with the amount of effort the OP has put into crying about this lately, he could have just upgraded his modules....

I like that CMDRs that I see with mods played the same game I did to get them. Sure, they may have got a couple lucky % more to the same upgrades, but it's a big Galaxy.
