Engineers My last complain and i really leave game for now.

As i invested many hours into this game and i did everything is possible to do there before Engineers.
As i invested also lot of time posting topics and replying/commenting other people in Elite related forums.
As i never complained about missing game doccuementation (where and how/why to find/do stuff).
As i always were one of the Beta testers.
And as i have left nothing to do except Engineers now - i am saying I LEAVING THIS GAME because:
1. I will NOT invest any time more into finding materials for engineering because they are so rare so i will become Grandpa before i find them all.
2. I will NOT invest any time more holding my head and praying GOD for "at least positive" Randomly Generated Modification Effect.
3. I will NOT do Canyon race, surface exploration, further system exploration because of significant Planet graphics downgrade (surface textures and even geometry).
But!
I really appreciate any help i got in Elite forums to find out how to play this game.
Thanks everyone!
But I leave this game (at least till next expansion) because Engineers have nothing that can keep me play this time consuming downgraded crazyness.

On point 1 i have to agree spend the last 3 days (abour 10hours) for finding materials for lvl 2 mods and i did get 1 material that i needed thats just lol

If it is no longer fun, then don't play. Not enjoying the particulars of this or any expansion is reason enough to set it aside for a short while or forever. That is a perfectly valid thing to do.

Personally I am enjoying the engineers, well, more or less. On a positive note, it has given me reasons to fly off to different parts of the bubble, and to try something new (mining). But I see your points. In the end this is a game, not a lifestyle, and probably within a week or two or four, I will set the game aside and play something else. And after awhile I'll come back to Elite. I always do.

seems a bit unrealistic to me like I understand the anti-rng posts and peoples general dislike of it but unless you are doing a 1 tier upgrade your basically guaranteed an upgrade, and finding the items isn't gonna take you until your a grandpa it might take a couple of days though.

plenty of these threads have good reasoned arguments but some of them are just overreactions to things the players don't understand, that is entirely FD's fault but I don't think you should quit the game over it.

It's a bit of slow going and there's a lot to get your head around, but even an old man like me is working on level 3 upgrades.

Engineers is starting to grow on me and there's no doubt that the introduction was a bit "bumpy" and the reaction was a bit hyperbolic.

I think if players don't focus on "gotta have L5 everything - like yesterday please" they may actually be able to appreciate the improvements that are here. It's not perfect. There's still some tweaking and bug swatting to do, but it's getting better and certainly isn't as bad as the hyperbolic criticisms make it out to be.

Give it some time, it's like drinking wine - allow it to breath at room temperature for a while and then drink slowly to appreciate all the subtle complexity.

Nobody will complain if they will be able to make ships unique in notime and will meet another cool ships in space.
The problem is now that we don't have that actual cool modofied ship gameplay. We have resource grinding and RNG gamble play.
But we all expected modified ship play and interesting & different NPC types.
I don't understand why it should be like that? Why not to give access to modules faster?
I mean give resources faster or make RNG more friendly to positive effects.
It won't break the game. Wasted time is what brake the game now.

Seems that what you want is a game you can complete. Elite Dangerous is not that. ED is a journey, it is supposed to take time; to last.

Sure, there are things to work on, but I don't know any other game developer out there that listens and responds to feedback as readily as FD. They can't change everything at the drop of a hat

If it is wasting your time - go do something else instead; don't hold FD to hostage by threatening to quit.

Dunno, I had lots of fun this evening. Landed on a planet, found some rare materials, looted some cargo, got some data from a data point, then got some attacked in my SRV by Federation security ship who chased me across the planet and back to my ship.He did pretty well on a 2.4+g world. Great fun.

The engineers are not ment to be something you just get.
You are ment to just play the game as if they were not a thing and when you do have what you need go to them. at least thats what I think.

Fast paced progress would ruin elite in my eyes and make everything feel meaningless and cheap.
Remember the early days when a viper had a meaning and the sidewinder felt like a real ship?

Maybe if you just play the game, you will get your items one way or another... But if you grind for them then it will feel like a grind.

Anyway are those upgrades necessary to play? Unless you are doing full PVP, why is it so important?

How hard is it to understand? There is a number of components which you WILL NEVER get by playing normally. The only way to get them is by intentionally grinding for them.

I've said that a couple times. These folks are deaf and blind to it. Grind doesn't exist, use your imagination, etc etc etc. It's all really boring arguments that I don't care for anymore.

TIME is important to people. Not everyone is on welfare and gets to sit on the game for 10-15 hours a day while mom cooks and cleans up after you. I think the biggest problem is when they released BETA and let everyone try stuff out with FISH. We didn't get to try the real thing. I have been searching for about 4 hours a night after work since release...nothing. You can tell me to go do something else or just wait and it will come, I bet it won't, and quite frankly, I don't want to do anything else. if I cannot start on getting upgrades for any of my ships, then what is the point?? You also need to understand that near every NPC already has engineer upgrades, so EVERYONE is at a handicap. So it's not about wanting them, it's more about needing them. I have followed posts, watched streams, youtube, google, what have you....nothing. Even went to different systems light years away and searched planets until I fell asleep in my office chair. But I guess that isn't enough. Maybe I'll call my boss and ask for time off so I can find 1 piece of material and maybe by Christmas have enough to unlock my first Engineer. What's important to you may not be important to others, so your post has no bearing on anything. Bottom line is that they released an expansion that wasn't finished and is still broke. If it is suppose to take months to find materials, then this is def a game I don't want to play.

It used to take what, maybe a minute to kill a ship that was equivalent to you, now it takes 10 and you will most likely die so that's pretty fun. I call this the unfun patch, not Engineers. Look I'm all for difficult, Bloodborne, Dark Souls 3, Tetris but when a game is so difficult it becomes unfun, there is no point any longer to play at all.

To all of you ignorant's telling people to leave, coming in and being a smart ass and saying 'bye', I've seen you guys on youtube videos talkin       too, if you knew anything about MMO's you would know that you actually WANT people to play your game, even if you don't like them. I'm not going to tell you why, you'll have to go ask your mom for that answer. Sad this community is becoming more and more toxic. (Yes, I know there is sarcasm in this post, I hope you all can deal with it, I know it's tough in our 'everyone gets a trophy' world these days, hopefully no one is too awfully triggered!)

Here, take some blindfolds so you don't see the facts of the game any more. You are welcome. :D
