Engineers engineer commodity storage already exists

If you let the faction hold on to your rewards until you need them.

In some cases that's not even time limited storage.
(apart from the fact that there is a limit to the amount of missions in the transactions tab)
And when there is a timer - that timer is usually at least one or more days. Surely you can gather the remaining required materials for a blue print in that time, then go and fetch the commodities to get crafting.

No....it doesn't.
not in the way that is convinient and permanent.

I'm afraid you might be confusing this topic with on demand commodity storage.

I'm talking about engineer commodity storage (or more specifically: mission reward storage).
That thing everyone seems to be having problems with because of overflowing cargo holds.

It's a work around. And, there is a mission limit. A good idea though if you will be wanting to just store missions/commodities you need.
However.....Sandro did state that permanent storage is being worked on in one of the YouTube live broadcasts. Hopefully this will happen sooner rather than later. And fingers crossed we can store more than our modules.
Flimley

This certainly isn't a terrible idea, Probably worth mentioning to be sure - I can think of some rewards i'd rather have sat in my log than have collected.

Which gives me a brilliant idea. Have the option to send missions rewards to our storage instead of having them go straight into our cargo holds. That way you can still rack up the rewards with just a purely fit combat ship if you so desire.(I don't mind haulage stuff so I'll keep mine but I'm sure this would make a lot of people happy.)

You take those good ideas implemented in other games and keep them to yourself!

I still wonder if commodity storage should be free or paid depending on station. And if it costs credits, at what rate/how?

We could perhaps also have something that acts very similar to missions running out:
A "pawn shop" under contacts at a station.
You get to sell commodities to it at a very low price with the guarantee that they will hold it for some time.
If you come back within that time you can buy it back. Beyond that it will be sold on the market (profit for the pawn shop).
Lower price for longer storage (more profit to the shop once he gets to sell it).
