Engineers My last complain and i really leave game for now.

I imagine how much time it would take to make everything upgraded ship playing at least 3 hours in day. Fiew years.

I've played only a few six-hour sessions over two weekends plus one or two hours here and there during the week (work full time in a busy job), and I have grade 3 modifications to engines and FSD plus grade 1 modification to power plant. So "a few years" would be an exaggeration, to say the least.

If you insist on grinding to acquire and modify multiple large expensive ships, then yes, that will be a grind.

Go Python! It does everything - no other ships necessary, but get a small fighter too anyway, just for fun. ;)

I think its already preaty clear Frontier dosent care, they already got your money. Sad to say but its the true.
I really doubt it will be any another payed expansion in this game, nobody will buy it.

Thank god this is so untrue. Frontier listen to the community and have changed things in the past and will in the future. I am just not sure if I should wait for the next point release before I start my modding. Next point release is one of those milestone where they altered the game based to community feedback.

Just having grade does not make your ship cool.
You have to roll all these blue sliders at 95%.
And there are different types of ships.
You have to modify main combat ship, main trade ship, main explorer ship and perhaps canyon run Cobra and combat test Viper.
Believe me it will take you forever.
Or you don't want to have those nasty Special Effects on all your weapons?

Maybe if you just play the game, you will get your items one way or another... But if you grind for them then it will feel like a grind.

Anyway are those upgrades necessary to play? Unless you are doing full PVP, why is it so important?

This is exactly it, people who find it a grind, mostly do so because they are choosing to grind...... You can just play the game....

My Python has gone from 348 m/s boost to 385 m/s boost, and with a range increase from 17.5 LY to 21.5 LY.

I think that's pretty cool :)

I have to do no such thing. I don't have a main combat ship, main trade ship, main explorer ship etc. etc. I don't need to. I'm happy with my multi-role ship - Python. She's all the ship I'll ever need (although I do keep a Sidewinder for extra fun).

This idea that you must have multiple ships just because you can, and that you must upgrade them all - is all in your head. You make the grind yourself.

The engineers are not ment to be something you just get.
You are ment to just play the game as if they were not a thing and when you do have what you need go to them. at least thats what I think.

I agree - I feel that is how FD wanted Engineers to work, sadly many people see everything as a simple race to the top, in elite they are always going to be a bit disappointed because there is no top.

As i invested many hours into this game and i did everything is possible to do there before Engineers.
As i invested also lot of time posting topics and replying/commenting other people in Elite related forums.
As i never complained about missing game doccuementation (where and how/why to find/do stuff).
As i always were one of the Beta testers.
And as i have left nothing to do except Engineers now - i am saying I LEAVING THIS GAME because:
1. I will NOT invest any time more into finding materials for engineering because they are so rare so i will become Grandpa before i find them all.
2. I will NOT invest any time more holding my head and praying GOD for "at least positive" Randomly Generated Modification Effect.
3. I will NOT do Canyon race, surface exploration, further system exploration because of significant Planet graphics downgrade (surface textures and even geometry).
But!
I really appreciate any help i got in Elite forums to find out how to play this game.
Thanks everyone!
But I leave this game (at least till next expansion) because Engineers have nothing that can keep me play this time consuming downgraded crazyness.

+1
You are not alone, I left the game too, for these same reasons, I cannot accept all this RNG.
Waiting for some changes, I salute you o7

And what will you do if i will attack your Python in Open Play with my federal Corvette?

Can I ask you a serious question?
If you've left the game out of frustration, why do you continue to post on the forums?
.
Please don't take this offensive, I'm asking a serious question.

I will die bravely... Not every ship is equal nor should they be.

I can answer that question easely.
What we all complainer doing there? We see potential in Elite: Dangerous and we want that potential to be used correctly.
I am ready to pay even bigger price for this game if it makes me happy.
Nobody makes happy that time consuming looking for random Material drop and random effect roll.
I am Deadly, Duke, Rear Admiral. I have about 700 million game assets. I spent 800 or even more hours playing.
Sorry it is time to feel some yield from this game. Don't you think?
Don't you think it is stupid i still should be doing missions for 5K money and look for these materials one more year?
Don't you think it is stupid in souch a rank and invested time into game to look when RNG will roll me something better?
Frontier does not get that. Game were already HARSH and GRINDY.
Was that so hard to make some better rolls in ENGINEERS and better material rewards for that kind of ranks?
Why i can't purchase those materials in special shop as i am nearly GOD?
Why i can't get better GRADES because i am?
Nooo.... I should still feel like a noob playing computer game allllll day long. Again!
And world has no changes. Nothing new to find nothing new to look at. Same stations, same outposts, same empty planets.
Where is reward?

Yeah..six months to bring this "engineers"....

Apart from some admittedly nice and most welcome improvements to the exiting game, I can't say that planetary landings and these silly engineers has been worth the price of Horizons so far.

Maybe they should have called it Narrow Horizons.
