Edit: this was not the central structure it was a spike containing a Meta-alloy, but it was silver inside, hope this makes sense

You know those small mining facilities you get in POI's on planets, do you get the same result as I posted above?

Its the only hint we have. the problem is that we do not know the center system, so the shell can be anywhere around the nebula.
My suggestion is to travel about 300ly straight out from the barny system with as short jumps as possible. But even this way, chances are high that we miss the shell, since it is only 15ly thick (assuming its the same as around Merope).
I nearly finished my first route (approx. 30 systems) without luck yet.
So I have just had my first sweep at looking for a barnacle to find they are now in a different system.
I could not find one on Merope 5c after hours of looking.
Next stop California Nebula I'm guna bag me one of those alien freaks.
Can anyone help me I'm not too sure on the quickest way to find one.

1 month ago i visited the california nebula for days... not a single clue or sign of the barnacles.

Something to think about, those of you looking for a shell:
Maybe it's still centered on Merope, but now with a much larger radius that includes the california nebula.
(Or maybe there's no UA relation at all)

I found the shell for the California nebula. http://i.imgur.com/PJTyh18.png I just picked up a data package in there.

Sorry to disappoint you, but data packages don't mean that it is a shell system. Found several on my way, they are just remains of some poor explorers
And yes, servers seem still a bit laggy.. they are trying to hide something from us!

There watching us. They know we are close!
I found Technetium, Tungsten, and lots of Chromium in the one barnacle instance I cleared before the server crash. I'm now floating above a pristine instance in Open.
