it took people months to find a barnacle with a huge shell of UA's pointing right at them..... this could have been here since then and we'd never have known tbh. let's see if another shell develops

all very exciting, it's been all i could do not to sign in and see what's around

Either way this discovery is surely significant, I have so far found no evidence of any anomolies so if there is no shell, would this prove that the barnacles and the UA's arn't linked? and it is just coincidence that they are in the same system?

Without a shell, that would seem the case. But we don't know for sure the UA's in the Pleiades aren't pointing at the barnacles for a reason. They may not come from the same source. But they could still be linked. Also, yes this is the first found outside of the Pleiades.

maybe they are not related, and "they" didn't know about these barnacles (as we didnt know until today?), but definitely not a coincidence, meta alloys kinda proved that.

The California Barnacle seems to be of the same kind as its Pleiades Cousins. At least the Sound it makes seems to be the same. I'll go do some recordings.

UAs are not pointing to the barnacles, they point to Merope, that happens to have barnacles, I'd say.

Yeah, MB's response to whether the UA's pointed at Merope because of barnacles was "they are pointing where they should" or something like that. Never said because of barnacles. But yeah, maybe whoever made the UA's only knew about that nebula? Time to search for a new shell either way.

I got your point, i was raising another: UAs outside of Merope point to Merope (system) UAs in Merope point to Merope (the star).

now, if Merope (the star) and California Sector DLY C4 (the star) are similar.. that could tell something.

I bet if you find a shell there the UA's from it will continue to point towards a star in the California. Then trouble...

I have a feeling that there is not going to be such a shell.. :(

Doubtful. Just like how systems are suddenly permit only. I don't believe anything exists in the game until fd is ready to progress their story.

They are supposed to be like that. The bugged double Barnys from Christmass, did not look nice and orderly like the 2.1 doubles.

The Barnys are spreading. There has probably been some in CN all the time. There are just more of them now.

Do you think the shell could be like the Maia one? should we travel a 100ly up from the barny site to find it? maybe it covers the whole nebula?
