Engineers My last complain and i really leave game for now.

And what will you do if i will attack your Python in Open Play with my federal Corvette?

Trash it or fall asleep on the boost button, exactly the same as before engineers ;p I don't really see what this point has to do with anything. The corvette is the slowest combat ship in the game by a massive margin you can't force a fight on anyone outside of a T9 with it.

I can't help finding materials, rare, common, everywhere i go, every ship i destroy, every mission i take, every little excursion down to the actually damn amazing looking planetary surfaces....
Can't help thinking we're somehow in a completely different instance here OP because i'm not having any of these issues...

As for the upgraded modules, just take what you're given with level 1 and maybe 2 hacks and get to level 3 onwards where the upgrades actually start making more of a difference and the gains are far better... don't fret man... and don't chase after the upgrades either, otherwise you just end up sounding like every other 'it's a grind' post out there...

So as usual its left to the dedicated players to make the game better .So returners can complain when they are left behind..

Where does someone go after Elite anyway?

I can answer that question easely.
What we all complainer doing there? We see potential in Elite: Dangerous and we want that potential to be used correctly.
I am ready to pay even bigger price for this game if it makes me happy.
Nobody makes happy that time consuming looking for random Material drop and random effect roll.
I am Deadly, Duke, Rear Admiral. I have about 700 million game assets. I spent 800 or even more hours playing.
Sorry it is time to feel some yield from this game. Don't you think?
Don't you think it is stupid i still should be doing missions for 5K money and look for these materials one more year?
Don't you think it is stupid in souch a rank and invested time into game to look when RNG will roll me something better?
Frontier does not get that. Game were already HARSH and GRINDY.
Was that so hard to make some better rolls in ENGINEERS and better material rewards for that kind of ranks?
Why i can't purchase those materials in special shop as i am nearly GOD?
Why i can't get better GRADES because i am?
Nooo.... I should still feel like a noob playing computer game allllll day long. Again!
And world has no changes. Nothing new to find nothing new to look at. Same stations, same outposts, same empty planets.
Where is reward?

Sorry to be harsh but you do not seem to understand the basics of how to gain the materials needed for mods...

After a few hours mining in my anaconda i had collected so many materials that i was 600/600 and had to start mass dumping all the common mats. All that is needed for starter engineer mods are these types of mats. You can get yourself up to rank three with these alone it takes about 3-4 mods to rank up to rank 2 and another say 8 to get to rank 3.

The other parts that are needed (NPC drops/Base assaults/Scan info etc) are easily picked up by just killing a few NPC's and having a limpet collector to pick up everything that they drop. I have scanned wakes with wake scanner and assaulted all the base types solo with my SRV and got all the "rare" data that is needed for rank 3-5 stored for when i decide to fly back and do more engineer mods.

You do not need to grind or even do anything but play the game and do a variety of activities and everything you need will be dropped for you (mining/missions/bounty hunting) and in large quantities. Just make sure you have a limpet collector (preferably a few) and some cargo room and play the game as normal and youll be able to mod away to your hearts content without all this silly "grind" mentality.

As for RNG everyone is in the same boat, don't expect to get all the best/perfect mods straight away that is the fun of it imo.

I think what would help would be for each material to have a description with some details of where to find it. Make the description something that builds up as you discover things.

eg When I get the blue print I might get a broad hint, recipe item a can be found in a federal system in anarchy state and a hint as to how many types of locations it can be found in.

However if I find the material before I have the blue print then I will have more exact information.

eg I spot the material dropped at a planet poi on a Federal system in anarchy state. I get the information it can be found in a Federal system in anarchy state at a poi.

eg I spot the material in an empire nav beacon. I get the information that it can be found in Nav Beacons in Empire systems.

Depending on where I first identified the recipe item I may have more information. This would make exploration more important.

The more knowledge you have of the locations that a material can be found in, the greater the percentage chance that the location you go to will have the recipe item.

eg If the recipe item is found in 5 different locations and I know each of those locations there is a 100 per cent chance if I go to one of those places I will fine it.

The key is making the location of the material dependent in part on the system state so its not possible to farm a specific location.

Actually.... Thank you!
I forgout about limets! :D
It makes it a little more easy.

I'm saddened that anyone leaves for whatever reason. ED is a lot of fun for anyone looking for complex, in-depth game play that is more than just a pew-pew shoot em up.

I have been concerned about this all along as this release is just too much too fast for players that haven't been around very long. The issue is compounded by FD allowing credit accumulation to get out of hand, which has produced a lot of CMDR's flying expensive ships that they really don't yet have the basic skills to fly.

Consequently, there are many new CMDR's suffering huge asset losses and seeing too frequent re-buy screens. Thus the frustration.

I have advised many in other posts that if you feel that this is your situation, drop back into the fastest low-priced ship you can afford to fully A upgrade. iEagle, Cobra, ICourier or Clipper are the best options for their speed potential.

Learn to run and survive so that it's automatic response and success virtually 100% of the time. Learning this to near perfection is a basic ED skill that is a foundation skill if you really want to play ED long-term. You can do everything in one of these ships that you can in the big iron - it's only a matter of scale.

I can A rate any ship in the game and outfit it any way I want. So what did I do when 2.1 released? I hopped in an iCourier and bought the Enhanced drive from an Engineer that gave me UNBELIEVABLE speed when I stripped it down to keep the weight low. Nothing was going to catch it and it has great shields to boot.

This put me in a superior defensive position for getting a feel for the new environment that enabled me to gradually adapt to the new changes.

If you're just frustrated because your Trade Anaconda isn't a viable platform anymore, this is the answer you need to give some thought to. If your so stuck in your 2.0 play mode that you need to leave, it's understandable and a shame because ED really is the best game for this genre available at present and it is hours and hours of fun with no real end game in sight.

Good Luck CMDR'S

I really hope some will read this and re-think their strategy and decide to stay. It really is possible to stay, survive, and prosper while having a lot of fun, if your willing to break the mold and adapt.

There are already more than enough 'hints' in the recipe itself if you click and hover over the materials needed? I really don't think you need some huge virtual 'arrow' pointing to where you need to go to find the things you need.

And of course, there is always the social aspect of this game - try making some friends, join a group maybe, ask around.... there are many willing to help those who need it in this community, all negativities set aside...

I don't know about anyone else, but for me it'll probably be the funeral home.

Snip

Sadly, I'm not prepared to bend over backwards just to make a game 'survivable'. Good luck and thank you for the advice. I wish you well.

Thank god this is so untrue. Frontier listen to the community and have changed things in the past and will in the future. I am just not sure if I should wait for the next point release before I start my modding. Next point release is one of those milestone where they altered the game based to community feedback.

I pray to be wrong and you right, otherwise this game will not last long. I like this game but today the only thing that is fun is exploration, and there are some talk about putting OP aliens NPCS everywhere in the galaxy, so the last fun in the game will be gone. Honestly, I dont know that this company is doing with this game, but I hope you are right and I am wrong on this.
