Engineers Have I any options?

Hello Commanders.

FD are aware of a bug in 2.1.02 concerning 'no information appearing in your inbox after scanning a nav beacon' for some missions. They have 'stickied' it in the known bugs section and have asked for no more bug reports. I'm looking for 'any' workaround in the meantime until the issue is resolved, which is what this thread is about.

I currently have 2 unfinished missions due to this. The problem is these mission end times are fast approaching and I'll likely be fined/lose rep for failing to complete them - and I'll not get the microweave hoses and vanadium rewards that I desperately need.

I've scanned many USS's in the target systems but they are only ever the usual 'weapons fire detected', 'distress signal' and 'convoy dispersal' et al (some of which I've jumped into for some quick fun). I know from 'successful' missions, after I scan the nav beacon I get an update in my inbox and target within system location on sys map and on my mission board. The mission USS is then recognised by my ships AI when it comes in range. I'm obviously not experiencing this at the mo.

So, my questions for those who may know....(1) am I wasting my time scanning the USS's without specific data from my inbox. (2) Should I just delete these 2 missions if there is no way to complete them (due to aforementioned bug).

Thanks in advance Commanders 07

Didn't see them in the stickies, but you can try another honk on the discovery scanner, or trying to scan the nav beacon to see if that helps, if in open try in solo and vice versa.

Hi Dutchy2000.

I've scanned the nav beacon many, many times - just in case! - no go. Even after jumping out-of-and-back-into system, logging off and back on. I've only got a basic scanner, its all I've needed so far when scouting for materials/commodities). I'll pick up a better disco scanner anyway to see if that helps. Didn't think about trying solo. Will give that a shot too and report back my findings.
thanks for the suggestions 07

My basic scanner should have done the job. Tried a longer range (better class type) - no effect. Tried solo too and that didn't work either.
Sniff :-(

Here is a link to the sticky in the known issues section (last bullet-point in the 'missions/station services/CG's section in QA Jonny's OP)

I hope they can sort this out soon...
