Along with all the other die hard Elite Dangerous players out there, I too was awaiting 2.1 with great enthusiasm. I was looking forward to the game play, new content, new story, new combat, tools...etc... you get the idea. I have run into a few snags, to say the least. Some I have been able to over come, while others - the answer has yet to reveal itself to me.
I have noticed that while searching the forums for answers to my questions, I have found a lot of players that are unhappy since 2.1.
To those who have not found an answer in the forums for your problems in game, and are not satisfied, I would suggest finding a new game.
I'm not saying this to be mean spirited. The whole point of playing games is to have fun. If the myriad of activities Elite Dangerous now offers doesn't make you happy, then perhaps it is time to move on for a while.
Sure every game has a learning curve, and Elite Dangerous is considered to be challenging to the most average of players; to say the least. However, if you have given the game what you consider proper time to judge it worthy or not and are still not happy, then go. Take a break, come back in a week, two weeks, or 6 months. Whatever suits your fancy. Don't be unhappy, don't be "salty" just go. Elite will be here when you get the itch again.
Consider this though... When the next expansion comes out, put some serious consideration and thought into whether Elite Dangerous has fulfilled your desire for fun activities this past year. Perhaps your money would be better spent somewhere else?
I prefer a positive game experience, with happy, fun, enjoyable players, and I understand that there will be a certain amount of people that are not going to like the changes. Instead of being unhappy and complaining I would rather you just leave. Whether enough people leave the game for the game developers to make changes that will make you happy is hard to tell. But we won't know unless you leave.
Sure, you could always voice your opinions, thoughts and desires to the game developers in the forums in a positive, constructive manner, but what's the fun in that?
Fly safe commanders and play the game you want to play!
