How to change my in-game name?

Hi there fellow Commanders,

Having a question as title says: HOW TO CHANGE IN-GAME NAME? Is it even possible??? Anone done this already?

My 1st name is Gaarp, so the trafic comms call me: GOLF, ALFA, ALFA..., those last two "alfas" sounds bit artificial when said two times in a row, so I'd love to change it!!:(

Thank you in advance for any feedback on this!!

P.S. I'm playing on PC (not Steam ver.)

IIRC Fdev support answered this question and said they don't do any name changes and refer you to the "Clear save".

Sadly you can't, but doesn't hurt to ask them.
I think there is a way to turn that in the settings.

They do if you give a reasonable reason.... i got my changed from my random choice because i explained i wanted to write some fan-fic / backstory .... they changed it no problem.

Just ask ... nicely

Nice! Looks like the do exceptions for special circumstances. While yours is a bit unusual, I totally understand how annoying in can be every time you go near a station. I would guess it's a serious quality of life issue and hope support will handle it quickly.

I feel really stupid now!

The traffic controller hails me using OSCAR ROMEO ALPHA - I thought this was just random, but you have just made me realize it's the first 3 letters of my name!!

I Asked ... nicely and got my cumbersome last-name removed. No reset, just open a ticket, and got a friendly reply that change had been done. I believe it took a day or two.

So I was K-Rose, I recently deleted my save thinking I'd have to change my pilot name. Does anyone know if it's possible to re-select my original alias after a clear save?

I'll raise a ticket to find out as well, I'd like to be K-Rose in game again :)

Yes, you can start a new save with a name you've used before. I think the only restriction is that a name cannot be currently in use, and if you've cleared the save it isn't so can be picked again.

You can serially select the same name if you clear your save, I do it all the time. I don't know if you can go back to an old name after using a new one thought.
