Only ever interdicted by elites and deadlys

Anyway something is clearly not right !!
I' am Deadly combat, does that mean I will always only meet Elite/ Deadly's ??? Really!!
What if in trading 'Conda or exploration Asp ??
This is the most insane game mechanic I have ever heard of (if true), my brain is frazzled and close to 39 Centigrade, something will blow !

Cheers Cmdr's

I got my travel hauler wiped by three Elite Eagles xD
Maybe they send some Elite Vultures after you when you're in your ASP :D

All theseelite npcs had to get to their rank by murdering thousands of other, also ranked ships(who in turn had to murder quite a number as well). It seems(unless npcs are cheating with their ranking), for every elite you kill, you can mark death of thousands other npcs, including ships. I don't think even entire bubble could produce so many ships and it is super unrealistic, that we meet so many ""elite ranked members of pilot's federation"" every day. Pilot fed ranking should be reserved to players or kept super rare. Instead we could measure npc threat by their bounty or number of attributed kills or whatever.

But of course, Braben thinks that being interdicted because of 10 tons of landmines in T7 by elite fdl is what players enjoy.

How come, we do not get piracy missions of the same type: Hey, this evil elite trader is carrying 30 prototype superconductors. Kill him and bring us cargo?

I'm a trade elite, but only an expert at combat. However, whenever I get interdicted it's ONLY ever by Elite's or Deadlies. And as I usually travel around in my TRAVEL ship and not my combat ship, I'm usually totally outmatched.

I gotta tell you, this kinda sucks.

I made a post about it as well. Its absurd.

They also magically pop into your instance.

I've had one jump in WHILE I WAS MINING like POOF right in front of me.

Outside of the (suspected) scripted mission enemies, Yes, that is my experience.

Unless you are pretty good, get used to dealing with it by running away, very fast.

I'm still hoping this is an unintentional bug as to me it does only seem to affect the random non-mission/PP/RES enemies.

Well. I hope this really is and in that case stays related to your cargo value/ton (additional to the already noted security level and/or mission rank).

Because how else do you offer all difficulty levels at the same time while making sense?

28 interdictions in 110 minutes. 26 were elite combat and 2 were deadly. This was last night. Usually Condies with souped up engines so it takes a while to boost away so I can jump.

I have to admit that I rather like being interdicted by Elite and Deadly Anacondas or Fer-de-lances. I trade in an iCutter and the fun bit is trying to manoeuvre to the station without letting the other ship get behind you long enough to establish the tether. With the FDL this is a lot more difficult that the Anacondas but it is great fun all the same. If I do get interdicted then I run like hell and hope that my shields hold up. If I can get out of SC near the station then I can watch the other ship commit suicide by space station. More fun!

Although the constant interdictions are annoying they've relaxed a little for me, they send FAS, Clippers and gunships after me too :p
I fitted two pulse turrets instead of gimballed and 1 c6 SCB and just roll with it. I can easily take down the elites and as long as I'm not pressed for time, it's some extra cash.

Yes.... now I come to think of it virtually all of my interdictions have been elite/deadly. I've assumed that's because I'm elite/deadly but shouldn't there be some variation? I don't really mind, it's no biggie in my bigger ships and my Asp has the new dirty drives upgrade so can get away. Must be a bit of a pain if you're high ranking and in a T7 though.. That thing was always a deathtrap but now I'd have thought death was certain even with all the correct advice followed.

Thanks Vidicator, your videos are very good and I appreciate the effort. However, It's more a case of I don't want to always fly a battleship to trade, or always run away. I like the occasional squishy target too.
As several have said, we can do the 'Sir Robin' very effectively, we just don't want to need to every time we are in anything less.
.
Having said that, I'd like to thank everyone that we have made it to the fourth page without a single 'Git Gud' comment.

Personally, I do not have any problem to survive the interdiction, regardless of NPC rank or ship type. I can always simply submit and run away.
On the other side, I have a huge problem with frequency of interdictions, which make the game incredibly annoying, especially when it comes to those "string interdictions" when you are interdicted again and again by the same NPC. This really need some debugging and adjusting. Maybe some counter in the program, which will limit the amounts of interdictions to let's say one or max. two during one hour of gameplay.

I'm doing OK in my Tradeconda. Mostly D grade, with 6A shields/C PP. I'm taking the fight back at them - haven't lost one yet and I'm far from a brilliant pilot.

High waking while en route to a distant location is fine but the tedium sets in when you're almost at your destination and about to make a delivery. You just know that you'll be pulled when you're right on the doorstep of a station and if you high wake at that point then you'll never get to where you're going. So it's low wake, instantly pulled again, low wake, possibly get to the station in one go, but the pirate will drop out right behind you so you still have to boost into the no fire zone and hope the cops do something about it.

It's just like being taxed for a couple of minutes of your life for every delivery that you make.

Will pass this along to be checked into.

I would like to add, that I almost NEVER get interdicted by Elites and Deadlies despite being "Dangerous" rank. Am I being punished because I like to fly small combat ships?

Your lucky I only get interdicted by elites it seems........Oh how I laugh. I will keep one eye on this however.
One good thing I have done is to upgrade my Python with grade three dirty drive tuning. And now out running these interdictors is more efficient. (Apart from FDL's)
Flimley

Snap, Dangerous and flying a Viper Mk4 = no interdictions since last week.

Says the Elite rank CMDR... glad to hear they're concentrating on you instead of me [up]

Death not always a certainty. <crosses fingers>

I'm in a T7 (saving for the T9) and I always submit and high wake to escape. I've been destroyed once since 2.1, but that was because I was relying on a 4E shield and using 2 pips for sys and 4 for eng, instead of the other way round (I thought being able to boost more often, outweighed the shield requirement). I've upgraded the shield to 4A and although I've had the shields taken down, I've not died since.
I hadn't been employing the FA off method to align to high wake destination so I'll try that next time (see vindicator jones' video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=woy8nmaVuVg)

Interesting. In that case it may be worth pointing out that I'm usually in my Cutter for trading, or my FDL when fighting. Both running top spec gear (that huge multi-cannon is a joy to use :)).
I used my Asp for an exploration trip to impress a couple of engineers and was not interdicted at all, but as I was well outside the bubble for most of that time it probably doesn't mean much.
.
Is it possible the logic is more along the lines of 'Total worth of Commanders ship' directly affects 'Total worth of NPC spawned'?
