Is that your idea of "fun"?

This hasn't happened since 2.1.01. If it has, please post a video and submit a bug report.

NPCs do not go after cmdrs for carrying limpets anymore.
This is not even close to true. I get interdicted all the time in my vulture no less. The cargo hold is disabled so not sure what they expect me to drop. Same happens in my T-6 regardless of if I'm carrying anything. It really doesn't make much sense.

When you get back to your destination system, and you feel like the pirates that your mission description warned you about are still after you, spiral towards the station with your "rudders" aka yaw thrusters. If they can't get behind you, they can't attempt an interdiction.

I never heard of this. How would you spiral if the destination station is far away?

Also, if you fly away from likely pirates, does that prevent them from interdicting? In other words, you're in cruise and you see some potential pirate blips, should you adjust your vector as to maximize the distance between you and them?

I'd love to see a video of you carrying nothing but limpets and getting interdicted. Unless you're wanted, on a mission, or a part of another PP faction, etc... I'd like to see it.

Please post a bug report after you show the vid.

Ok. You took a mission that gave you cargo to deliver.

If you read the mission description, it told you that people would be gunning for you. That's why they're after you. Feature, not a bug.

If you high wake out of the interdiction, you will have more than enough time to get back where you're going, even if these magical npcs are following you... They're not.

If, as you're alluding to, they are spawning instantaneously and right behind you, interdicting you right away, this is a bug that has no evidence of existing. Please post a video.

Today alone I have lost count of how many times I got interdicted within seconds of me dropping out at the star of a system. Which so far has proved to be quite fatal because it ALWAYS wanted me to turn into the sun for the mini game.

park your ship at the sun with the rear end of it facing the star and get as close as you can to it, they will try to go behind you to interdict and end up meeting their own fiery demise in the nuclear furnace of the star... works a treat apparently :D

I sort of hope this get fixed some day.

Good questions!

1. Constant yaw will help you keep in a spiral even as you're moving towards your destination in supercruise. That helps keep the pirate off your back end, and thus unable to start their FSD Interdiction.

2. It's a lot like WWII dogfighting in all elements of this game. Try to keep them away from your 'six' - and at the same time - retain all the energy you can. In this sense, keeping them from getting behind
you while getting to the station as fast as you can. (lots of rudder!)

You should try to maximize distance and also try to prevent them from getting behind you. They can't start an interdiction unless they are in a cone spreading out from behind you. Try to keep them to the side or turn directly towards them and accelerate (without losing track of where your destination is).

This is not an everyday scenario though. The best is always submit to the interdiction and immediately jump to a close by system as soon as your FSD cools down. This has NEVER not worked for me and believe my, I've had my fair share of interdictions.

NPCs that follow you from system to system are much rarer now. I carry around cargo just to attract elites for drops and find that it is rare for them to follow me when I'm traveling and cant be bothered to farm them.

One NPC followed me yesterday for over 600 Ly coz i had 100 cr fine for skimming a ship out of a station. . Till i finally started orbiting a twin suns and he kinda disappeared into one of them. So Its still happening.

I don't mean this in a jerky way at all. Please post a video if you can. I can nearly guarantee we can find the reason. If not, there's a crippling bug afoot!

This is a 100& correct post.

No offense M8, but you need to let FD champion their own cause. You're starting to sound a bit know-it all. just saying.
And on that note, I'll just give in. You're obviously right and everyone that disagrees is lieing and must provide a video. Time for me to get interdicted on my way to the RES anyway.

It's a yaw and roll, just yaw will take you away form the target. I think you view the roll as obvious but I'm always surprized by how many simplest concepts are lost to players every day.

Grabbed a mission to scavenge some cargo. When I arrived at the mission destination system, I was interdicted roughly 6 times before I could finally complete the mission.

6 interdictions in the same system by 2 different NPCs. I think one was a Vulture, didn't really look at them. I'm not foolish enough to try to fight them while I'm hauling mission cargo because dying means mission failure.

So I ran, and ran, and...ran some more. 4 of the interdictions happened less than 10 Ls away from the star port. I would escape and immediately be interdicted, escape, lather rinse repeat.

My blood pressure was going through the damn roof by this point. Not because I was having "fun", though. It was abject irritation.

I wasn't going to drop the cargo and fail the mission, I wasn't going to get blasted into dust and fail the mission, so my only option was to continue to engage in this stupid interdiction/escape circle jerk for 20 or so minutes before I could hand in this one mission.

FD, for the sake of my sanity, please cut back on the number of interdictions. Add a cooldown or something, I don't know. Just fix it. It feels like what Dark Souls would be if I was just invaded repeatedly.

It's not fun or exciting, it's just obnoxious now.

I could say that you were 'warned' in the job description that you accepted. The came out and said that people would come to get you.
Being interdicted over and over is aggrivating.

But as others have said, take precautions.

If I get a serial interdictor, I will fly loops and not let him get my backside.
Stay outta shipping lanes.
Hop to the next system over and back again. Especially against a Vulture. It's not like they have superior ranges.
If all else fails, turn and fight. You can tell pretty quickly if you have a chance or not. Unless you are in a dedicated trade ship...
Don't stack missions. You are piling up the chances you will meet resistance.
Don't PP.
Do you fight the interdictions or just submit?

Anyhoozle.
G'Luck.

No. I've seen plenty of people make this assertion about interdiction, but everytime it turns out that things are working appropriately and they just didn't understand how it works.

You are getting chased. It's not paranoia, it's real. The mission said so. If it's not behaving like that, and it's so rampant, there must be a video of the behavior somewhere... Right?

Thanks and yes.

Same thing happened to me yesterday on a salvage mission...as soon as i arrived in the target system it was constant interdiction...i dropped into the Nav beacon and the first NPC left me alone...after i left the nav beacon got interdicted again....i throttled down and avoided somehow....

Very sad this game is broken now

They are spawning right after I come out of hyperspace next to the star. I think it's part of the mission design since they do warn you and all. But the constant chain interdictions are frustrating, and clearly this isn't just my experience - there are a lot of threads on here talking about how bad (frequent) interdiction are lately.

So you didn't high wake, huh?

Well I found a way, to trap the interdictors.
Try to evade them and get to a station, drop out and the guy will not only follow but start shooting, at that moment the station and security ships there will take care of him. :)

But I never had so many interdiction as you claim, maybe 1 or 2 on a trip but that was all.

That sounds cool. How do you evade them?

Ohh....I had no idea.

That's the thing with this game. So many unwritten but crucial gameplay mechanics. Most complaints are really people who don't know how to play but have been getting by due to the weak AI.

But I agree they should ask for help with the problem they are having instead of just assuming it's the game's fault.

he's talking about winning the interdiction. Keep your pipper on the icon that shows up on your screen when it starts.

It's not easy, especially when the other ship is bigger than you.

Edit: He wasn't saying that at all was he? I'm a little stoned!

Everything he said was right, and me too! ;)

I think what most people are upset about is the frequency of interdictions. Even if you take a mission that states you are likely to be interdicted shouldn't mean you always will. It should mean that you are more likely too be. Right now it is rare not to be interdicted which is wrong in my opinion. It makes it seem like there are 10 pirates for every trader and that is all out of proportion.

Hi everyone,

Something doesn't seem right at the mo with interdictions and missions. Some people seem to be getting loads and others like myself hardly anything.

I'm Master , Broker and surveyor ranked. Stacked 7 missions last night, all saying enemy ships might come after me. One of them above my pay grade as I fancied a challenge!!! Got interdicted once!!! By a novice viper!!

Through the night I took another 7-8 missions and not one interdiction?? In the end I went to a high Res as I was feeling unloved

Does seem to be some discrepancy between what people are experiencing out there!!
