Pesky Escape Capsules

Hey Guys,

Was out in the black and found a crash site with six (yes six!) of these.
I was determined not to get sucked in, drove off, then drove back (Damn that Guilt!! [mad]).
After three trips I had them in my Annie and am now heading back to the bubble (I cannot even begin to explain why...I have a healthy Guilt complex!)
What do we do with these nowadays? (That involves NOT selling them into Slavery, or pushing them out of the hold into space).
I just wish FD would put some effort into this aspect of the game. (That and the Data Survey Cache that seems to be EVERYWHERE out here!)

I still cannot believe that I am heading back with these....

I have recently found two lots (different locations) one lot came up as "stolen" (which I then ditched) but the other lot was not, so I will just sell them...

How cruel, transport them 1000s of LYs then abandon them amongst bounty hunters and pirates :(

Until there's a legal option to rescue them, shikata ga nai... :D

I wonder what would happen if you trawled through signal sources until finding a rescue ship picking things up, then jettisoned them there?

Did find 29 escape pods in the black; 29 :D. Some like 9 together at a broken srv ; I only can
house 2 pods  .

Occupied Escape Pods rescued from the surface of a planet are legal salvage, so you can sell them wherever there's a commodity market (general rule is that surface salvage is legal and space salvage is illegal, although naturally certain commodities are still illegal in certain jurisdictions).
I also brought back half a dozen occupied escape pods from DWE and sold them at the Imperial-ruled station I first docked at; I assume they were then either returned to society or faced trial on the basis that a couple of them had snuck off into the black in an Anaconda carrying nothing but tea and narcotics.

I consider "selling" those a rescue fee. Paid for insurance up front and they pay stations and in turn you to hand them in.

Besides that there are professional NPC rescue teams - so you can also let them wait for those. The same ones that fish you from exploding around beagle point and bring you back to the bubble.

These ones are legal, I found them on a surface crash site...no tea though? (Obviously some dastardly Explorer had nicked the tea and left the crew [sour])
So, does the commodity market actually list escape pods?? Or is that a creative term for Slavery...
