Engineers give us a break somwehere

well i tried the missions all im getting a search for this and that missions. got jumped by 4 fighters luckily it didn't go bad almost lost my shields but when i went to get the mission loot i hit it and it went boom. mission sucked anyway and reward wasn't that great.

problem is for me the re-buy costs are so high that fights are too stressful. id be willing to accept harder ai if loosing wasn't so punishing. Up the mission rewards or nerf re-buy costs or increase the effectiveness of mods, something give us a break somewhere. Right now i feel like its too much on all fronts im just not having fun here.. and that's the whole point of all of this i want to have fun.

rng of drops and mod generation sucks too.

i know im a noob my fits suck go play hello kitty island.

Yep, I prefer an elite conda to a wing of little'uns, at least the shots all come from the same direction...

I find it depressing that two years in they can make a change like this (AI) . Surely some dynamics have to be set in stone. No wonder offline was dumped , how could they possibly have done it with these sort of updates ? Right now I'd be rolling back to 2.0 because it was more fun for me ! It seems ridiculous that players who got to Elite in Combat,Trading and Exploration upto V2.0 get to keep those ranks .. It was a different game. I mean I'm sort of in that boat myself ( Dangerous ) so I feel for you new guys .. Now its going to take an Eon to rank up to Elite if anyone can even be bothered. Please keep a small percentage of ships that are Elite and spectacular pilots ( well done on the AI programming there ) but make 99% of the other ships more like the majority of real players in the game, the AI balance was about right in 2.0.

Rail gun Eagles... Never overheat, never seem to run out of ammo... And act like they have four "pips" in all three (SYS, ENG, WEP). Small ships are agitating.

I just start at release in 2014. To be honest, from release till 2.0, the NPC's pilot AI were terrible. They were brainless vegetables (don't shoot back and so on...). It was practicaly impossible to die, unless you had made a terrible mistake.

Today's AI is pretty good. BUT there is no AI scaling at the moment. That means that an harmless NPC (or an wing of these) could get you in deep trouble.

In case of the rebuy/repair cost, I think that FD had to scale it down to the way they want to go.

the Elite ships seem to have some bonuses we don't, lower skilled targets like expert and master seem fine. they fly better but their ships are somewhat nomal. I have a massively hard time with Any ELITE ship though...im not sure they should drop the AI, just any bonuses that we cant have so it evens the field...I have a fed assult ship lvl 3 mods in most areas. fought an Elite Clipper..holy cow that was hard. it was turning way faster than me at 264 (dirty drive lvl 3) with a YPR quite a bit higher than his A rated should be at. I compared to my clipper A rated vs my fed assault ship and it should be about 10deg slower on pitch than me....he out turned me constanty... though I did drag him through asteroids and cause him to hammer a few..i won though, wish I had a video of it. really great fight. drained all my resources though had to go back to base to reload. got 52000 for him....not really worth it when you think of it.

Ohh there's scaling alright. People perception of previous NPC AI just doesn't allow them to clearly judge them.

After restart I am now flying with cobra. I have had one interfiction since restart. I have been doing mainly missions and I have been here and there. I wonder if the lack of interdictions are tied to my bad reputation or something. It feels that galaxy has forgotten me.

When I had that one interdiction I tried to submit but apparently I won the interdiction cause it said interdiction evaded. When I flew with python I couldn't win even a single interdiction. They just felt too hard and impossible. Now that I do nothing I win it :D I guess those are the benefits of the restart.

Four? Heh cute, they have 6 pips in each system and just middle finger you while they cheat their way.

This ... and the AI scaling has to be done. When I imagine I'll start today in a E rated Sidewinder with this AI ... Ouch. And it is totaly normal that everybody make mistakes as newbie.

Don't fly what you can't afford to lose?

Because that's exactly why we play games. To stress about losing everything. I guess a little but, we can't store materials anywhere. You die you lose not credits but from what i heard even materials you carry!

You don't loose materials. You lose some of few commodities used by Engineers. Easy to come by anyway.

Since the last update I switched from a python to a fdl. It was a great move.

Combat testing the balance has been quite reasonable. I have ranked up to master + 18% and have been hanging out in res doing the odd combat mission and bounty hunting.

My experience has been that I have taken on vultures, cobras, eagles with ease no issues unlike the before the patch.

Pythons and clippers vary depending it would seem on their ranking and so it should and I have taken out the odd anaconda.

It would seem there is still a few issues out there. Missiles seem to have a instant 100% hit there is no evading them which you could previously. There is definetly less modified weaponry about but there is some. Pirates whilst trying to mine commodities etc is fun....jump in they jump in massively outnumbered jump out and jump back again. Rinse and repeat until you get just the one or two to be pick off.

What it looks like to me is how it was stated. If you are higher combat rank then you will meet more of the higher rank and therefore modified ships. Which is how it should be. Combat is harder they are still harder but its is nicely varied so I am happy with it.

If you are a high ranked combat pilot then really you best get working on the mods and fast as your npc bait.
