Cargo storage is already here?

I found a mission for 4 modular terminals and all I have to do was deliver 12 tonnes of beer to the next system. Easy! I knew I saw modular terminals for many of the upgrades I want to get. Unfortunately it turns out that I don't have any of the other materials (mechanical components or specialised legacy firmware). And not all my other ships that I want to upgrade have cargo space installed. I think I'll have to sell the modular terminals and then look for them when I have all the other materials that I need.

This is why the swap shop thread was a good idea. Shame it never took off. Maybe it should have been stickied? I've considered getting a second account for a while now. This would be another use for it.

If you don't already have a 2nd account, then you have to buy one. The tip itself suggest it. Without the 2nd account, you can't do this.

It is stickied I think, it's in the Engineers section as opposed to the Dangerous discussion.

I didn't so I just sold the mission rewards I didn't need at the moment with the intention of only searching them out once I had everything else I needed for a specific upgrade. This was my workaround until storage turns up until I thought 'Hey, I have another account to mess around in, why don't I use that".

I paid extra money because I WANTED to, I was not FORCED to, I did not NEED to, I did not HAVE to. Buying a second account was a personal decision made before this handy perk was considered by anyone.

I bought the game allready 5 times, i dont mind spending money on a game like Elite. But just buying an second account for storage is messed up.

You only need to buy a second account if you WANT to use this tip.
I assume that you posted on the WOW site to complain that its disgusting Blizzard is FORCING you to buy ten copies just because someone mentioned you can multi-box and automate multiple accounts for your own personal warband.

You do not need two computers, what you need is a Mule friend, who holds you stuff until you login into your storage Mule, and pick it up again.

Cargo storage would be nice. Storage for materials and data would be even nicer.
I always worry, when clearing stuff out to make more space, that I am throwing away something I might need to go out and hunt for again to get a level 4 or 5 mod at some point down the line.

I already have two accounts thanks to the KS but even with access to another PC I've never been tempted to move stuff between them. I doubt I'd be bothered for this either TBH. Both accounts are active, so it's not like I could dedicated one solely to storage while I played the other. I'd need to have at least one "extra" cargo ship per account to service the other one, then if I took my first CMDR out exploring the galaxy he wouldn't be around to act as warehouse keeper for the second.

It all seems a bit chaotic to me and I'd sooner just hold off on maxing out the high-tier Engineer stuff until commodity storage becomes a thing, but good luck to anyone who has a go. It's certainly an original idea that makes clever use of the game mechanics. And the guy that was complaining over in the Fuel Rat Congratulation thread that there was nothing similar for another group to do? There you go: the Storage Squirrels. "We're just nuts about storing your commodities."

That's awesome. If you leave the alt account with "fire at will" turrets deployed, can you accidentally make yourself hostile with a limpet accident and get it to attack you? :eek:

What do these people believe what they buy when they buy e.g. a cucumber in the supermarket? Hey, they forced me to buy a peeler! And I need a knife, nobody told me that before, so they should give it away with the cucumber!

I wish I could -rep people. (I know, would be missused, so I have to go without) So +reps for the OP and the other constructive people.

It's a right faf but I suffer from 'pack-rat syndrome', which is a common gaming ailment :)
I'm not really doing anything with my second account at the moment and I'm hoping proper storage turns up before I think of another use for it.
