SRV...Where to buy one?

Seeing as I messed up, I'm now in back in "The Bubble" and looking for an SRV...where can I get one? Currently docked at Gooch Ring, Ariatia System

Wherever Planetary Hanger Bays are sold :p

but in all seriousness it did take me a while to find one. I just hopped from station to station till I found one

Almost any system that isn't out in the galactic sticks, I'd say? High-tech's are an obvious first port of call.

If SRV hangers/SRV's aren't showing up, check your role panel - if it's still the vanilla sensor view (instead of the new Ship/SRV screen), Horizons is bugging out (fixed with exiting, quitting at dashboard then relaunching. no need to turn the machine off/on). Currently seems outfitting/shipyard/hangers may trigger the bug, or at least hugely increase the chances of it triggering.

Again, I have no idea!!

EDDB reckons you can get a Planetary Vehicle Hangar at Robinon Prospect in Pican, I think that's close to you. You need a hangar before you get the option to buy an SRV (click on the hangar after fitting it and the srv option shows up).

You might find you need to quit to the dashboard and relaunch the game if it doesn't show up, the hangars are a little twitchy about appearing sometimes.

Go to a high-tech. Log out and shut down to xbox dahboard. Load up the game from scratch and go straight into the equip ship section and you will find the hangers. Then you need to buy an srv bay to put 'in' the hanger. When you buy the bay, an srv comes with it so don't worry about buying them seperate unless you manage to destroy one *cough*

The reason I suggest to log out of the game compleely is because some people have been having problems with the hangers not showing correctly so this just stops all the faffing about.

Pretty certain that's not correct, btw - you buy the hanger, but you do still need to buy the rover.

You buy the hanger, then you buy the bay to put 'in' the hanger. The free srv comes with the bay, not the hanger.

Hm, well I'll chalk that one down to semantics; you need the hanger to fit an SRV, so you buy the former and then your next purchase adds the latter.

I am assuming that later, we will be able to buy different bay's for different vehicles.

To sum up, buy the Hangar in Outfitting, then fit the vehicle bay in Outfitting (comes with an SRV) and if you lose an SRV at some point, replace the SRV in Restock.

Have to post here otherwise mods delete saying new discussions on this are dupes. So...

Thanks for this info. Came up in google search. Would be good to put the actual names so as to be able to corolate and clearly identify what we're looking for in order to get a Planetary surface rover. So here's a best explanation for anyone else doing a future search:

If players start the game from Horizons DLC launcher (in blue UI) then the starting location is on a planet and the starter ship comes with a hanger and SRV already in! Happy days, no need to buy anything, you already got it all. So one option is to start a new game, with that in mind. (which for me, is not going to happen lol).

(Also, don't forget, in order to bother getting an SRV in the first place, you, the user, have already understood the fact that Horizons add on is required for planetary landings. Ok, good stuff, cool beans, moving on...)

The other option is to buy one. In which case we're going to have to go to a star port or other relevant place where we can out-fit our space ship to carry an SRV hangar bay. Easy enough to google this. Once docked we check out:
STARPORT SERVICES> OUTFITTING > OPTIONAL INTERNAL> PLANETARY VEHICLE HANGAR.

Mine at the time of posting this and the quality of the starport services provided me with a class 2 size hangar to choose. So if this is you, you want to fit that into one of your class 2 slots, of course.

You will then likely not notice at first, but below that "class 2" slot, (slot with 2 pips of size capability), in your "OPTIONAL INTERNAL'' module set up, another extra slot, for an SRV BAY".

So in OPTIONAL INTERNAL list, you then have to click that SRV BAY slot, select buying options, then buy an "SRV BAY". The description explains that this is a bay that you have to purchase and fit in order to accommodate an SRV within the Hangar you just bought!!! Now, this is a save in grace here, because for some weird reason, buying the "SRV BAY" automatically fits an SRV!!! :D (???).

Phew! Deep breaths, you have just finished your outfit with ship-to-surface vehicle capabilities. Enjoy your next mission, Commander, whereby you now get to watch your ship explode when it tries to land and pick you up! YAY! (If this h appens, restart the launcher in Vanilla (orange UI) mode, and because of it not utilising planets, Elite will load you in orbit of that planet. Quit again and reload Horizons launcher and bingo, you just carried on from where you left off, without having to launch in to orbit and all that fuss).

Soooo.....I was having the same issue with no PVHs at Jameson Memorial. I read that maybe I could find vehicle hangars on planetary bases. So I go to a nearby planet base and nope can't land on a planet, WHAT?!?! It turns out XB1 platform (for me) was not and is still not recognizing Horizons as of this posting. I have some ships already equipped, however, I can't use them.
