I am so sorry I ventured out of our safe haven here in the exploration forum :D
And no more moans about Jaques, FD have their hands full.

I have. There was a time when i wanted to help newcomers and guide them into the secrets of Elite.

It soon turned out that many newcomers have this really s**tty negative attitude to begin with, so theres really not much you can do at that point.
My hat is off to those who has the nerves there. I dont.

If you find a genuine newcomer in need of help (instead of just wanting someone to listen to them whine), point them at the Galactic Academy discord (link a few lines down on this page).

For one thing, that filters out the more serious whiners. For another thing, one of the more active CMDRs there (at least a few weeks ago) has a day job that involves guiding school classes through museums :p

Haha i havent been on Dangerous Discussions in ages. But i wanted to check the other day how the Community feels about Engineers and stuff since i cant test it myself right now. oh boy was that a mistake lol
i think im gonna stay away from that forum and the bubble for a little longer. Lets find Jaques first. I need loads of Brandy to fight the whine when i travel back :p

Well, it's called Dangerous Discussion, not Productive Discussion.

(Yeah, yeah, I know, "Dangerous" refers to the forum rank at which you get utterly sick of the place, not actual danger)

I went to the newcomers forum when I first bought the game and recall commenting on how great it was to see all the comets - they were amazing. Amazingly difficult to get behind and track though :/
Hung out for a short time and got sick of the 'you're a noob, you know nothing' (or should that be you no nuffing?).

The contrast of this sub-forum here is amazing. I poked around just before Horizons because I had some question and have been here almost daily ever since :D

I searched for "Soontill Relics" to see where I might find them and ran into a thread from Dangerous Discussion.

By the time I reached page 9 (the end of the thread) I'd added seven people to my ignore list. :(
