Sorry for asking, but I have a question about the morse of the UAs. Do we know exactly what they're 'saying'? I have no clue of morse, but I've read in an earlier thread that there are different 'views' to interpret the code.

edit: so it's kind of difficult to decode it

I can't tell if you're being serious or sarcastic. I'm going to hope for the latter since the former is just absurd.

Hi Chaps,

Until this week, the furthest out I had ever travlled was 300ish LY.

Today I am here. approximately 10,000Ly from the centre of galatic civilization, Polevnic.

This is the second time I have been explorin. I am a complete novice so don't now any of the terms, nothing abiyt start tyoes or anything sciency.

Screen shots and system name would help.

Treat me like a remote control camera and tell me what to look at and I'll report back.

FWIW - I've never doubted UPs and UAs are different.

They have different names for one ;)

that's a brilliant effort Ben! You are somewhere I really really wanted to go a few weeks back. As for where... 2nd star on the right and straight on till morning :)

How about changing the sign from "Permit required" to "Forbidden region" or something? or anything that would clearly state that there's no way through...

You are in the Rift. No one knows what we're looking for out there, but if you want to try to find it, I would either try to follow the gap inward, towards the galactic core but staying in the arms (and therefore explore the Rift), or fully cross the Rift to the next galactic arm, and explore that arm (and therefore explore the mysterious "beyond the rift", where few have ever returned from).

No, i am completely correct and you just stated why. You can supercruise to where the system is. I also stated that the game incorrectly handles this and you again explained that incorrect behavior. The instancing mechanic of the game engine makes the action of supercruising to other systems not work correctly. The game engine is why the action of traveling to the system via SC does not work, not anything in-game lore-wise or otherwise.

Frontier needs to make it either A. Not possible to supercruise to other systems or B. possible to supercruise to other systems. The current bugged behavior of being able to reach a system but the game's engine not spawning stellar bodies is not correct. It has no in-game explanation for it's behavior and is simply a game engine bug that needs to be fixed.

So I can see them at 1000m, thats good to know - I can fly upside down (I don't really like driving the SRV when using the Vive).

Utopia!!!! We need to haul some dissidents out here to one of these earth-like's to set up a population and then we can prep one of the systems in the rift. CG?

I'm heading towards the RR line ...roughly center-wise through the rift.

There's a massive and important different between "bugged" and "beyond current design scope". You would do well to learn it.

Something is bugged if it was designed to function in one way, but is currently functioning in a different way.

Something is out of scope if it was never designed to function in a specific way.

Being able to supercruise to different systems is not something the software was never designed to allow. It is out of scope. It's not a bug. These are wildly different things.

Just wondering, has anyone gone back to the Rift with a fully modded FSD anaconda? Those have like a 55lys jump range or something. and if you use a booster, crossing the rift should be a little bit easier now.

You can't get to Polaris at present. Michael Brookes has stated it in this very thread.

We did try and have a Wiki to record experiments but it failed for many reasons, the main one being that most people are not scientists and therefore conduct and document their experiments really really poorly.

I don't mean to be rude, but I find it hard to believe everything has been tried like you say, especially with no proof or records. Just the first "UA's have been taken everywhere" is ridiculous. Every CMDR put together has not been everywhere in this game.

Anyway, if my particular theory had been done, if the person trying it couldn't simply record their findings then I don't really trust their ability to carry out the experiment properly anyway. So when I can I will do it myself.

Yes, you can. You can SC to it. It has been done. The game just can't handle it. Design flaw, bug, over sight... Call it whatever you want but if it isn't supposed to be allowed then it shouldn't be possible and if it should be allowed then either way a fix needs to be made.
