How far would you go?

500,000ls for an Earth-like?

I did pause...very briefly.

But then I did notice 2 water world's around the same star. It's gonna take a while to clear this system.

Still, combine that with the Earth-like in the previous system, along with a water world and the 4 water world's in the previous 2 systems.... what a great spell!

I've also found a pair of potato planets that were so close I swear you could jump between them with a srv. Pictures to follow.

Umm. I generally go 500,000ls for a couple of icy planets, maybe a gas giant and some rocky moons...

Anything that's worth the distance normally.
I usually watch movies when I'm exploring so it makes the time feel a lot shorter if I'm jumping or sight seeing

The one on the right is 1.73Mm away....

I reckon if you got a run up with a good ramp, you could land on the other one :D

For an ELW/AW yes, for a single WW, maybe. My current trip is for ELW/AW planets (24/23 respectively).

Edit: I should add I have no need for profits with 600m in the bank of which 260m is from exploration. I do the exploration for enjoyment, that and the fact they can't get the core game right after 2 years or however long it is.

Depends:
Racing to target/fuel rat rescue - Don't even look at system map
Profit hunting - Has to be within ~5,000Ls
Exploring - Infinite

Away from home, on my laptop at the moment, (no screenshots to refer to) but I have had several ELWs over 500K ...longest was 573K..several dozen over 250k...I'll go any distance for one. *grins*

I gave up a water world the other day because it was about 150000ls away. If it was an ELW I probably would have gone to get it.

An ELW at 500000ls...it would depend on how I feel on the day and whether I have the extra 30 minutes it takes me to get out there.

My general rule is >10000ls and I'm not going there...unless it's WW or ELW

I explored every single body (including asteroid belts) in Sigma Orionis even that the system was already explored... It took me around four and a half hours to do it.
I will definitely go 500+k LS for an interesting planet (even if it is a HMC which is big enough to be a terraformable candidate). :D

The above applies mostly when i am out exploring and i am not in a hurry to get to somewhere in time. However i get distracted by shinies even in some of these cases.

I'll go any distance to see something interesting - and if I'm in the right sort of mood I don't mind travelling a long way just for the hell of doing it. In fact i fell asleep at the controls the other night and was 815,000ls out from the star...with nothing to scan but MY OWN FOOLISHNESS

tl;dr Any distance for an ELW
Probs 500,000ls for something cool
