The UAs are different though. The UAs dont look like seeds at all but rather probes looking for something. If anything looks like a seed, it is the meta-allow thingy that people were taking off the barnacles. That to me, looks like a seed for another barnacle.

My best theory right now imo, and my best lead is that the UAs found something in Merope which we have yet to find. I suspect it is either a really rare USS or a celestial body that can not be discovered with scanners. I suspect that most people there spend most of their time looking on the planets and not looking for USSs as much time, or a celestial body that is not detectable with the lazy scan all approach.

The UA don't act like probes, they act more like unarmed sentries or observers who have established a perimeter around Merope and are now monitoring the star and ships that comes near them and sending that data somewhere.

There is a T-Tauri system close to it, on the Pleiades side, If I remenber correctly.

I have been searching uss in merope but most are coming up empty.
I will continue my search tomorrow.
Also has anyone searched the asteroid belt?

The local news stories you refer to are definitely not player submitted but Achenar has a faction in the BGS Outbreak state and the stories have the autogenerated style of the BGS War, Expansion, etc stories. There was no Outbreak in Sol yesterday but those stories are a few days old so I think it safe to assume that there was an Outbreak state that has ended. I think they're just autogenerated BGS stories and not related to anything else.

tis a shame the devs cant be bothered to make the procedural system tie in with a local goal community system and make the universe a bit more interesting. Maybe in the future

haha not to be annoying or anything but your description sounds like probes to me :)

Second Barnacle discovery on Witch Head Sector GW-W C1-4 A 4

Greetings Commanders,
Rear Admiral Midnight Ninja here again - doing a little night fishing. Found a second Barnacle on the same planet as earlier (Witch Head Sector GW-W C1-4 A 4). This one has 11 destroyed spikes. Coordinates are: -24.8372, -119.8862. Screenshots to follow:

Hind is slightly 'abow' the plan of the 3 others.

As you can see, it is very symetrical. It could probably be perfect with some other systems.

This looks really good to me. First we find barnies in the Pleiades, a few months later we find them in California and witch head. If Hind is the origin, maybe we might try looking at other systems that are ~650 ly from it?

Has anybody made it there yet? Very interested in what might be found! Barnacle factory???
