.. in a leisure park of Disney World --- Are we dreaming ? --- http://www.orlandosentinel.com/news...gged-alligator-disney-20160614-story.html?njg
Its a shame. I have family in Orlando and have been many times, and I can tell you when visiting I just assume every pond, lake, water hazard, bush and mud puddle has a gator lurking in it. They aren't something you just to go to Gatorland Zoo to see. In most tourist places, everything is clearly marked to stay away from the edge of the water, but I guess alot of people don't wan't to be troubled by reading signs.
I think 2 year olds, may have issues reading the signs. One has to ask, what were the parents doing?

I confess to be mystified as to why the authorities would spend so much time hunting and capturing the creature involved.
It does sound all very medieval.
An animal which attacks a human, must be killed. It is the rule. The dogs have been domesticated by eliminating the more ferocious. However, domesticate the alligators seems utopian
Understood in the case of an animal which understands what it did, but an Alligator?
It didn't exactly think it through. Any more than a tree decides to fall or a river decides to drown someone.
I can imagine that people think a theme park has safe ponds and lakes though.
I read on a website : "It seems that the alligator can stay several weeks without eating. It is indeed under the water, to wait for a prey as for mammals, same of the birds, which would approach too much near the edge of the water, to drink or bathe. It therefore appears that the alligator is a formidable predator, discreet and intelligent "
huh.No, all the crocodiles have brains the size of a pea. They are predicable and entirely instinctive. They react to certain movements in a predicable manner, which has been perfected over, possibly hundreds of millions of years.
They are dangerous, in much the same way as sharks and other large, predatory, primitive creatures.
I'm sure many websites will seek to sensationalise the 'Treat' these creatures pose to our very existence, in much the same way as occurred a number of years ago with Sharks.
It's nonsense.
These creatures are no more dangerous than a river or unstable cliffs.

You cannot blame the parents.
Well, Surfinjo says they're stupid, entirely predictable, and no more dangerous than an eyedropper. So that if you should happen to get killed by one, you've really only yourself to blame. You people simply don't understand Gators. perfect ambush predators. their longevity proves that. there were no signs warning of alligators, simply "no swimming" you can't predict what you don't know. those people were from Nebraska, there are no predators there. You cannot blame the parents.
