Lurker here.

MB does seem to be popping in more than he usually does :D. I think there's 3 possibilities:

  1. 2.1 is just out, so he's taking it easy and just lurking in this thread like lots of others
  2. 2.1 is just out, so he's very kindly keeping an eye on things in case what we're seeing does not tally with expected results (i.e. to spot bugs and stop resulting wild goose chases or inappropriate dismissal of correct lines of enquiry)
  3. he's expecting something (big) to be found in the near future

option 1 seems unlikely to me given how hard FD seem to be working most of the time.

option 2 seems possible, and if so, all credit to him.

option 3 seems likely to me, especially in view of the capital class ship arriving. If so,

Something cool was promised for today. Dont know what where or when

Just woke up. Just seen that Micheal has something for us today. Im scared.

Man up! Scientists only get scared when there's only one chocolate hobnob left at the monthly meeting

I was so tempted to add an entry:

• Location name (this should include system name, body name and lat/long if the location is on the surface).
• A screenshot of the view.
• Your Commander name – this will be used as a location selected by, if it’s used.

Location: Formidine rift's IT, system, lat/long unknown
Screenshot unavailable.
commander name: rifters

I think any assistance to planetary searching would be fantastic, as would the ability to bookmark ppoi/barney locations. In the absence of decent in-game support a third party tool would be really useful here. I'm no programmer- is there a way to get the current planet coordinates of the HUD & feed into a surface map?

Yeah, planetary navigation is in DIRE need of some aid. Even a toggleable grid overlay on your HUD would be a huge boost. Or being able to view coordinates on the planetary map and set a temporary "destination marker" for yourself.

I thought it was quite cool.

Michael

I find it cool.
Having a mission to go to some cool place discovered and suggested by other commanders is pretty nice. If you haven't been there its also kind of an exploration mission as well. Also you can learn about those cool places ingame by taking missions, not going around in forums to search for "cool places to go to". This is nice!

"...and there’s one aspect we’d like your input with. One of the reasons for passengers travelling is tourism"
So what's the other reasons? covert missions to the fabled Raxxla or other interesting not yet found places. is this how fd are going to solve/implement helping us to find things in this massive sandbox?

Ah fantastic! :D it just hung there then? Kinda wondered if the gravity systems would go bonkers and you'd spin like a top

Hope it was worth it for that last screenshot, I think that's great

It just kept "falling" but bar on the right showed that it was falling UP at the end. After relog i just fell of the sky at -13; 18. Now i just crush to desktop like everyone else :D

Wierd. Load the game in plain Elite 1.6 rather than 2.1 Horizons and it should poop you and your ship into space safely
