Hi to all owners of the GTX 970 GPU,

There was conducted an interview with a former RNGineer from Nvidia revealing sensitive and scandalous information about the story behind the development of the 970 and the deception regarding the 3.5 gb VRAM.

Enjoy watching :D

PS: Ima proud owner of a GTX 960 OC with real 4 gb VRAM

Nice meme! I'm very proud of my 970 but it does still crash because of the Summer Heat and lack of ventilation until my desk. Built in Mekitgo huh!!!

970 owner here. My previous was 480GTX so for me it's a real upgrade. The only downgrade from 480GTX it's my electricity bill :D
I know about ram when i buy the card, but i read the new drivers mitigate this by using only 3.5G so it's all fine for me. And the last one, i buy the card around last Black Friday with a really good price.

And the 970 still outperforms the 960 handsomely, despite the 512Mb of limited RAM.

I know which I prefer to have in my PC, and it's not the 960.

I largely disagree on that one. A cranked up 960 can thoroughly keep up with a stock 970 card. The difference in performance is marginal at best. Furthermore it is more than 100 bucks cheaper. Running everything on completely maxed settings 1080p ~50 fps at big surface ports. ;)

What's the supersampling value? Because I run it better on my old 680. What's the point of 960 then? o_O

Whats the point of this thread? That you got a better video card for $100 less? Well you didnt. The100thmonkey is correct, last year I texted out a few cards (the 960 being one of them) below the 970 and EVERY one of them had stuttering issues during Supercruise, hyperspace and inside orbital space ports. The 970 had a slight stuttering issue inside orbital space ports and that no longer happened after a few updates to EDH. The 970 plays ED better than any lesser nvidia card not including the Ti series.

Hi,
what shocks me at the moment is that I switched to a GTX 970 from a 660ti TODAY and I am experiencing nightmare performances!!!
Max FPS ~30, mostly 15!
I ran furmark which gave me normal resultsm, but then tried Farcry Primal which gave me 6 - 12 FPS!
What's wrong? HELP! ;)
Thx!

And I get 60fps locked. I haven't turned VSync off, so I don't know how much greater the performance is, but it's therefore at least 20% better on planet surfaces.
