As I'm searching the coalsack nebula, here is a barnacle compatible planet

Musca Dark Region PJ-P b6-5
In that system while approaching the planet I entered a degraded emission SS and there was a anaconda wreck where you could see the inside structure. (like the pictures in the kickstarter video of the anaconda being attacked)

I m going from That system to Merope and Col sector 285 FQ-O there are a lot of degraded emission SS with lots of wrecks.

I believe unknown probes were actually mentioned in the release notes, so before anyone had seen them in the prohibited list.
On my phone so can't track it down.

Sorry, gotta plonk in this total sidestep - does anyone have screenshots of the system maps of all the barnacle systems? I want to see if I'm right on a leeeetle hunch that we maaaay be able to identify potential barnacle worlds not just by the current criteria, but also if they are orbiting the right kind of larger body

So the voyager probe in sol. I need details. How far is that from the star and how would one go about finding it? Because Im gonna do the same thing in Merope... look for the Unknown Probe. I mean... I have a feeling it would be pretty much the same thing looking for them... just in different spots..

Do you mean not just the star, but parent planet if a moon too?

I actually didn't give enough credit to Netslayer and the guys (including Zenith and now Chopp3r et al) who early on suggested there might well be environmental similarities between where Barnies are found - because MBs own comments have indeed suggested that there might be conditions and criteria for where these things are found; and with these awesome pilots coming here, reporting finds in Cali and then Witch Head - I really think that given a few more days or weeks (probably weeks, well-played Frontier! :)) - we really will have cracked it.

I say we - of course I mean a select tenacious few :)

Dude...

That's a good idea... Actually that's a really good idea. I think it's about 1.7m ls? (do a google: there are numerous very good vids)

Also, another idea from that: anyone fancy heading from Sol in SC in the direction of Merope too?

Good question...

It might be one the funcitons of those unknown probes.... to find new suitable locations and plant the seeds...

We will have to find one to find out...

What if it was the Unknown Artefacts and not these Unknown Probes?

Where were Unknown Probes first mentioned?

Have people who know where to look searched other nearby nebulae like the Orion nebula? Why stop after we found them in 3 nebulae?

Yup, I'm in Barnard's Loop right now. Wanna join in?

Or Merope in the direction of Sol?
It is about time the outer reaches of the important systems were looked at again or for the first time.

Only reason I thought of it was because it just adds up. I mean... if anyone else wants to join in then fine by me...

0.07ly ( 2209032 ls) according to http://www.seeker.com/voyager-probes-found-in-online-elite-dangerous-universe-1769425518.html
but presumably you've got to be going in the right direction- how do you decide that? A while ago I did a thousand ls or so both above and below the Merope orbital plane.

Have found 3 barnacle locations in California Sector BA-A e6.
They are located on planet 4.

37.9339 -40.4353
34.832 -40.392

The system also has a water world and a Ammonia world.

Well I'll be a monkey's uncle!
I've already visited that system and scanned all the inner planets up to the Ammonia World!
I remember thinking at the time that planet 4 fits a lot of the previously seen characteristics for Barnacle planets. Well done on confirming Barnacles (subject to independent verification) on the planet. :)

Monkey's uncle times two here. Thought the system seemed familiar, looked over my stat sheet from just a few days ago:

Yes, I sold the cartographics data. That's the credit value in the last column. And, yes, A5 is a terraforming candidate.

And, for whomever was keeping score, this system is well INSIDE the nebula itself.

It's also the LARGEST and HIGHEST G planet barnacles have been found on thus far, by a fairly significant margin.

So, overall a huge find. Rep all around!

Im not good at maths... Im just thinking. We would need a POO (Point of Origin) lol... anyway somewhere the probe was launched from maybe? Hind Nebula? idk...
