unknown permit / cant plot route , NO EXPLANATION

yes I searched forums , found nothing of any real use....

lots of people have had it, if you cant go there because you just cant go there ok, just delete the star systems and leave a big bubble. its not a big deal but exploring is pointless if you cant go there or even navigate through .... a coherent explanation might be good.

Just go around it, LOLOLOLOL, have you seen the Col 70 wall, it's f'ing 100's maybe 1000's of LY across. It's an absolute ballsache without any explanation or game related features. Just random walls in space that you can't plot through.

Anyway, good luck OP, where are you coming up against this, what sector? Some may have advice about plotting routes around it. If you go in the wrong direction it could be a long detour.

There are several areas "reserved" via permit that are much larger than the Human Bubble. We assume this is for future expansion but we can't say for sure.

Well, region permits were in the permit menu since release. I'm not so sure that it's for "future content", as far is I know no one so far just figured out, how to get permission for them.

I was attempting to get through Barnard s loop and running man sector. if its reserved for 'future content' be nice to know how much of that area is 'unfinished' so we could avoid it

Yes I have been there, I admit it would be a lot easier if they were a different colour, that way it would make plotting a lot easier.

Removing stars which are visible from Earth by the naked eye, such as Rigel (the brightest star in the constellation Orion and the seventh brightest star in the night sky) would be just weird.

It might be possible that Rigel is in fact reachable after flying around the permit zone (I did not try that, as I was only doing a short Orion constellation trip during the weekend).

Edit: also, mapping the borders of permit zones might be a nice project for explorers, I remember David Braben suggested that as a possible exploration activity in one of the early kickstarter videos.

Ok, I think it is the col 70 sector you're coming up against, head toward the witch head and horse head nebula and there is a route clear just above them.

I am having a similar issue but I have already been to barnards loop before and orions belt but now I cant even get close have put a ticket in as I don't think its reserved for anything just thing its personally as I have made this trip before and now I cant even get under 500 light yr from orions belt. It is weird have restarted game and verified files but to no avail

That probably also was a hint where to look for getting permission to these regions.

This is indeed a newly locked zone, but I do not think it is a bug. Thargoids building new bases perhaps?

That is gonna be a lot of bases then as its a massive area gonna try circumvent it shortly and will see I have gone as far as 500 ly and still going round at moment

Exploring while usually not very risky is tedious. There are definitely paths through to Barnard's loop and Orion and some other nebulas in the area. It just takes time at the galaxy map to find them. If you start from california nebula and progress towards barnard's loop you will find a nice easy path.

I've been _all_ around there. It can be frustrating but meh. Just takes some planning.

Sectors being locked out is not new, many sectors have been blocked since the game started. There is no way to get permits for sectors outside of the human bubble currently.

This.

There are places you can't go yet. Many in fact. Time to learn how to navigate around obstacles because the edge of the galaxy is completely unforgiving.

Sure about this? Just asking because Region permits are in the permit menu since release. No one found it yet, doesn't mean there won't be some way.

Pretty sure. The PERMIT menu has been there since the start but it includes areas that are within the known bubble, in other words there are places near-by for one to get permits from. There are several large sections way outside known human space that are off-limits.

All these remote locked-out regions are currently labelled "Unknown permit required". Logically, "Unknown" means no-one currently knows or can know how to get them just by playing the game normally. Presumably, the Devs can hand-deliver an "Unknown permit" to themselves for testing purposes if they need it. Equally presumably, once the content is complete and the permits are actually obtainable, the indicator on the galaxy map will be changed to "Regor Sector permit required" or "Thargoid Homeworlds permit required" or whatever.
