You're still not in the same position as Swiss or the Norwegians.

Comparing Great Birtian to those insignificant countries is a bit silly.. Seriously, in five years time I foresee a strong independent UK with a vastly improved set of living standards and the EU crumbling into its self created pit of despair. They would deserve it. Germany and France have been no friend to us Brits over the years..

And perhaps the Greeks will now summon up the courage to leave too. For those guys its the only way they'll ever recover from what the EU has done to them. ;)

Great Britain a significant country. That made me chuckle.

Who made that forecast? A GDP predicting horse? (Yeah, I've stolen that from John Oliver, don't hate me.)

How were we no friends to you?

And Greece leaving the EU will suuuuuuuuurely solve their economical crisis and their debt problem. The refugees not even counted in.

I think its important here to make the distinction between what I think of citizens of a country and their respective establishments.

What nationality are you?

It was more the labelling of Swizterland and Norway as "insignificant countries" that got me. It didn't make me chuckle, it's a sad demonstration of the kind of attitudes that led us to this ridiculous situation in the first place.

I'm german. I have been several times to the UK and I liked it always.

But I'm not looking on the Brexit as a german. It's just making me sick how Farage and Gove don't give a damn on every warning they get and say "Don't listen to experts." or "Every major nation will negotiate a Free Trade Agreement with us.".

The EU needs change, Yes. And, No, I'm not happy with how things are currently. But leaving it and then saying: "That's your problem now. Not my business." is no solution. :)

That is, of course, just my opinion. Feel free to disagree. ^^

David Cameron will remain prime minister, announced the head of British diplomacy. The soup is really good in the palaces. :D --- For the majority the soup is so sour that the "Remain" has been beaten

Wow...well, I don't know what to think, yet.

Fortunately for me, this convinced the US Federal Reserve to not go forward with an interest rate hike next month. Even talks of a cut!

Now, the EU can become what it wants to be without the protestations of the UK holding it back.

We have our own dream and our own task. We are with Europe, but not of it. We are linked but not combined.

Was the goal always to become a super power?
