What's the basis for Scotland getting a second referendum? Whats the actual legal basis I mean? Sure tempers are high at the moment and I see that harriden sturgeon banging the drums for all she's worth right now.

this, further up the thread. Vote yes and you'll be out of the EU was one of the scare stories that Project Fear used to hoodwink people into voting against independence last time. Turns out voting no was how to find yourself out of the EU. Who'd've thought it? Ah yes, loads of us thought it. Many people who voted no then are clamouring for independence. A guy in my office who was a firm unionist and voted no said this morning that we shouldn't even bother with a referendum, and should just make a UDI.

...and most likely we'll have to accept freedom of movement in order to achieve this... So... Doh!
Freedom of movement is a good thing. I live in the Highlands. It's empty, generations of policy have cleared it out. We need people.

One of the reasons a lot of Scots decided to stay with the UK was because of the turmoil it would cause. Well, whatever happens now, there's going to be turmoil and tough decisions.
Personally I think we should go for the Euro. It would align us with Ireland.
Ireland.. Gawd! Those Brexiters have no idea what they've started.
I think we should keep the pound, at least in the short to medium term before implementing our own currency. The pound is having a rough time of it today, but the Bank of England will be keen to keep it bolstered by our exports (including, but not limited to, our vast oil reserves).
