Land Speed Record

Running down some huge crater at BP2 - I'm sure I hit 48m/s but the screeny says 47....it was hard to take pics whilst trying to maintain control!

Anyhow....has anyone seen faster in their SRV [pre-engineering modifications - they're only a matter of time I'm guessing]

Game on :)

If we get a few entries, maybe we can create a list.

Do we need any qualifying rules?
The only one I can think of is to maybe include whether or not you survived the attempt - suicide runs can perhaps be listed separately to survival runs.

I think surviving is a prerequisite. No boosting. Obviously a screenshot to verify - video would be better. A time-stamp of the start and end of the run with a note of how long it took to reach top speed at BP2. No drinking in the driver's seat, of course.

Yes, gravity helps! Here is a screenshot of my top speed, achieved on a world with 3.81G.

AFAIK this is the land speed record. I love going fast and I hunt out high G worlds with smooth craters to go racing in.

WOW.... this one is going on the Board! Thank you!!! +1
.
I am assuming that this was a 2.1 Achievement? :p
Is there a date associated with it?

I don't remember but I'll look at the created date of the JPEG I posted.

May 16th, 2016, so I think this was in 2.0 when I was prospecting for mats for the upcoming Engineers update.

I didn't know there was a board, thank you for posting it CDR Darkmoor :)

This is a system view of the planet I set the record on. My other fast speeds on other planets are in the 70s range.
