General / Off-Topic The seems to be wacko magic but really it's actually real science thread

Try this my friend.
The delayed choice quantum eraser experiment. A further developement of the double slit experiment.
I just happened to watch this today. A very compelling look into our reality. And how all matter is reducible into quantum bits...almost as a computer program

I don't want to get into the details of that broadcast, because I know that a physicist will definitely come along, tell me I don't know anything (The only true thing he has ever or ever will say!) and then claim it is all too complicated for the likes of me.

But........The point raised, that all existence is an illusion, that we are all manifestations of a single reality, is exactly the point made by ancient Hindu philosophers, long before Plato. They called that single reality, godhead and claimed that what we perceive as material existence is an illusion created and maintained by our separation from the central reality.

Buddha took this notion still further and suggested that we exist because we want to, we desire to exist. That we are maintained in this reality by ambition which blinds us from the actual reality that nothing exists.

Hinduism, Buddhism and others further propose that we are each individually destined to repeat our existence over and over, because we are attached to it. That the cycle of death rebirth, suffering and death continue and will continue until we each realise that it doesn't need to. Only then will we rejoin the godhead and in so doing, loose our individuality, that is, cease to exist.

It's always fatal, especially on these pages to make any reference to other states of existence. In this context, I do so for comparison.

Doesn't matter if we live in a simulation or not as it is real to us. If we did live in a simulation those who created it would have to ask the same questions that we do. I would have to see some very compelling evidence for me to even consider that our reality is nothing but a simulation. Also stating that everything came from nothing is an unknown. We have no idea if the universe came from nothing or perhaps always existed. The visible universe may have came about from the big bang but the visible universe is thought to be only a small part of a much larger universe.

Quantum Entanglement is kinda strange but so is this:

The question is, did we create that which created the simulation?

Could we think ourselves out of existence, vanish into a metaphysical dichotomy?

And where is the metaphysical dichotomy?

is it in two places at once?

Does Elite Dangerous actually have a point there?

What is interesting here, and let's use elite dangerous as a good example of a game that's mapped the entire galaxy in this present day.
Imagine in 50 or a 150 years time how these games will become increasingly complex, procedural generation will contain staggeringly collosal amounts of massive data. Imagine also how all the virtual people animals etc will be written as self learning AI within the game program.
40 years ago we had pac-man and space invaders, now games are fully cinematic with polyphonic sound and in VR!... Add another 50 years and these types of games may be indistinguishable from real life.

So given this as believable, why would scientists not create at some point a universe 1.0 and just let the program run in fast time. We can assume a similar path of evolution and eventually conscious beings living on planets .... ..This could be humanity now? We have no idea what happened before the Big Bang, maybe that's when the computer program was set into action....who knows, the giant PC brain is outside of our reality. Just like a possible God head.
