Engineers How Thermal Conduit works (Laser Weapon Special Effect)

No I want this to work.. :(

I don't care if I have to burn brighter than a star I want to do enough damage to punch straight through a SCB. In one go and then count my seconds.
Well, try it with a friend:
- Fire a regular beam and see how long ot takes to take down the shield.
- Let his shield come back online and restore to 100%.
- Enable silent running, fire your beam to the void, so that your temperature rises to 100%.
- Fire the thermal conduit beam to the target and see how long to take to take down the shield.
- Repeat several times steps 2-4, by increasing your temperature to 200%, 300%, 400%...etc...

With a big ship and an AFMU, you should be able to do that and conclude:
- Up to how much damage increase you get, and at which temperature.
- What is the cap of damage increased by temperature.

Then, be ready to be disappointed and eventually complain on the forum / create a bug report, etc...

Lol. Only have one beam with the effect and that's a retributor lol (they also made that useless again :( ) but I guess my target could be flying an eagle.
 
How do they work? They lower your DPS, get a different special (beams specials suck, as do their mods incidentally and their currently available ranks)

Currently long range + vent is your only real combo.

On a side note, yep, I have just modded 3x large pulse with overcharged..."only" 1° jitter is HUGE! While it's still OK against large ships, it's pointless against smaller one, especially beyond 1km.

And on top of that, I added scramble spectrum but...oh well, to disrupt a module, you need at least to hit the module... :-/

I wish I had gone for long range instead...

I've got a thermal conduit beam running on my anaconda's huge hardpoint. i've tuned the rest of the ship so that it runs a bit hot anyway. People have tested the damage output of thermal conduit and came to conclude that at 100% heat you will have 100% extra DPS.. for my huge beam that's 64 DPS. it's amazing. The only other lasers I need are 2 small bursts with healing effect for healing my wingmates, but I don't really need them. Any shielded ship up to elite corvettes and cutters will lose their shield quickly under my beam. Even when spamming shield cell banks. It just goes too fast for the SCB to keep up. It's killer for PVE but I get in trouble when up against players with heat meta builds.. but then there's heatsinks for that. :D
