I can see why it would make sense to have mining lasers and limpet controllers etc if you were going to out to rescue a station, but are there game mechanics currently demanding these? There are no missions on the mission board for example. Or are we making the assumption that there will be loads of mining missions popping up soon?

I'm amazed jaques had that much KY on the station even for 750 people!
We used Astro Glide, it's way better for big things.
Lmfao!
So, wouldn't it be easier and safer to fuel up a fully operational station and have it jump there instead of sending random dudes over 1500 jumps, each with a can of WD-40?
Hm, I'm a bit disappointed XD First off, why would there be a nav beacon? Kinda shows that the game automatically spawns one if it detects any sort of populated station/planet in it(?).
Jaques keeps talking as if he were alone. What about the hundreds of people with him? Really, I think it would've been a lot better if the station would:
-Appear in a VERY wonky orbit
-Be visibly damaged, perhaps not even spinning and thus not generating gravity
-And if Jacques was alone, rather than have the game start generating expansion news (Like, ??), have him acknowledge that someone has found the station. Like, geez, have some gratitude towards CMDR Cly, personally XD Offer him a cup of tea or... Allow him to take whatever he wants for free from the station. They should best buds by now! Jaques, you jerk! You talk to the media first rather than the guy that saved your life by letting them know where you are!
I dunno, this would've been a perfect chance for frontier to try out a few new things and make this game fee alive xp All these "residents" are just acting like normal despite the fact that they're stuck in the middle of nowhere. Seems very lifeless to me. But hey, at least they tried. And I'm sure many of these things can't be done due to game limitations.

I don't know if this has been posted already, but Jaques is orbiting a planet which has Pristine Metallic Reserve rings. There are also already some resource extraction sites established here:

Do you have some cargo? I have 32 T Rare good from the station. Lets meet thereI don't know if this has been posted already, but Jaques is orbiting a planet which has Pristine Metallic Reserve rings. There are also already some resource extraction sites established here:
So Jaques is doubling back on his story now? At first he was talking about how he was both nowhere and everywhere (according to the local news at his station), like he had no control over where the station was going. And now, according to this: https://community.elitedangerous.com/galnet/uid/5774e64f9657ba3d668a023a well... I'm reading it as he did have control after all and decided to drop out.... cover up, FD story flub, or are my thoughts getting away from me?

Or you can cut FDev out of it (because they are just the author) and assume that maybe instead of FD backtracking it's Jaques himself, I don't often read books thinking about the author, it tends to ruin the story.
