Horizons Ship type and board missions...

I know this was probably asked before, but I can't seem to locate a post with it...anyway...

Was the issue with ship type and mission destinations fixed?

In case no one remembers...
If you are in a Clipper, you can only land at starports and planets.
The mission board never used to distinguished what ship you were in and taking the mission put cargo into your hold. As we all know, you can not transfer cargo between different ships, so the mission is an automatic fail if you take the mission in a clipper and the destination is a station rather than a starport or planetary base.

Was just wondering if this was addressed or if it really is an intended feature. I can see how it could be a feature, but it's an annoying one if so :p

Anyone know?

I was under the impression that you can transfer cargo to another ship.
It is done automatically if you switch ships provided the ship you are switching to has enough cargo space.

When I am in a big ship I always check the mission destination, so I do not recall whether the missions give any clues.
... I think I remember there being the addition of (outpost) in brackets behind some of the station names now.

I was under the impression that it was not possible as when I had two (2) limpets aboard my ship and had more than enough cargo in the ship I was changing to (Going from Asp to Python) it said..." Can not transfer to another ship with cargo in the hold "

That being said...no cargo transfers happen. This was just recently too, within an hour from posting this. So unless I just experienced a rare and annoying bug, I'll have to go with what the game actually dictated to me lol.

I usually look to see where the destination is. I mean, I have no intention of flying 678,543Ls to the intended destination from jump in. Until there is in system jumps, no thank you :p

On the other hand I like to make sure that I know where I'm going. There are a few places I know I've been before, but for some reason when looking up the destination info, I either can't get the planet info (If it's a planetary base) and sometimes (very rare) I can't get the system info.
Like for instance if I've been to the Kongan System numerous times landing on Coddington Dock, I know where it is, but sometimes I'll try to look at the info from the galaxy map to plot a course, and the info for the system just doesn't want to come up and comes up as if I've never been there. At first I thought it was due to the mission, but after a couple times I figured it was a glitch.
As I said it doesn't happen all the time, quite rare. There are also a couple planets that are said to have bases on them, but when you get there, you can not land on the planet. I can't remember the name of the system though. I was told this by a friend that plays ED as well. Took a mission there not realizing it and insta-fail as I couldn't even get into the atmosphere.

But I digress...
I'm just wondering if the mission board actually realizes that you can not land at a station due to the ship you're flying so those missions.

Yes you can swap cargo, as long as the ship being swapped to has enough space.

The problem with the missions wasn't so much when taking the missions, in the past they have always warned you if the location you were going to required you to dock at a port that didn't have a large enough landing pad, it's the "on the fly" missions that are an issue, such as when the destination location is changed from one location to another. For this reason I am only flying a python until I am sure it is fixed.

There are some missions that send you to meet someone and only then do you get a destination port, I don't know if they have the same issue as the destination change missions or whether they warn you when taking the mission, I don't see how that would work if the destination is a random selection.

Ok, perhaps that was the set of missions I myself had experienced when not being able to dock at a specific station due to the size of the clipper...have to admit...it's a big A**.
I've only had the problem of switching ships and not being able to carry over the Limpets. never even tried it with cargo. I figured that the limpets are considered cargo as they take up space. So the logic is...can't transfer limpets, then you can't transfer commodity cargo either. At least that is my thinking.

Thanks for the replies though. I'll have to give it a try and see what happens.
