Hardware & Technical Steam in-home streaming

If you want to do that you already can with splashtop, but with splash top you can do android and I pad/phone. As for streaming to a laptop, you can already do that with windows 8 Remote Desktop. Not sure what use steams is, maybe for Linux and Mac.

No luck getting it to work so far with 3 or 4 games I tried. The game starts on the host, then Steam crashes.

The old PC I'm trying to stream to has outdated video drivers so I'm updating those now to see if it helps.

Hmm. I tested it today. Streamed ED, Skyrim and other games onto a latop connected to big TV in the lounge. Its awesome! I find PC gaming is somewhat solitary affair but this makes it into a console living room kind of experience.

I'm really impressed with it :)

I'll have to try it the other way around. In my case from desktop PC to laptop. The odd thing is the game was launching on the host PC, but Steam on the host would crash as soon as the game started thereby dropping the connection to the client.

[Edit]I got it to work once in DCS and it was remarkably smooth despite the client being an and old Core2 Duo with a video card that was average several years ago.
