Plan is to allow CMDRs to try out the cockpit chair of any of the ships in game, from doors open until 1pm on Saturday. Then lunch and I'm going to the Frontier Q&A (who isn't?).

Then resume after 4pm for VR SRV driving - probably on Europa.

Sunday, the plan is to mix cockpit viewing with VR combat training for any CMDRs who want a go, with a break for lunch.

I'll be in the LAN room!

Count me in - one of my main reasons for coming to Lavecon was to finally give VR a try!

I shall be there.

Looking forward to catching up with people from last year (and the launch party), plus hopefully meet some cool new people too. :)

I'll be there with my son.. briefly. I paid for my ticket 2 months ago but I haven't really played Elite Dangerous since the Engeneers update.

What I've learned from Lavecon 2016 thus far (bearing in mind it's now 2am) ...

1) nobody on these forums looks like what you imagine

2) the VR experience is every bit as awesome as you might expect (and there's a seriously weird "phantom limb" sensation the first time you see your own arm) but ... it's also VERY speccly/shimmery (like the opposite of anti-aliasing ... aliasing?)

3) Sandro doesn't take the space loach off ... EVER ... but strangely manages to pull off the look with aplomb

4) The Hutton Truckers are a force of nature ("for the mug" ... see? they've even got me at it)

5) Ed is the worlds best community manager (and looks sensational in a Noel Edmonds wig)

6) Cmdr alot is the mad scientist genius uber buckyballing ED space analyst we all suspected him to be and, in partnership with Jackie Silver, has basically managed to reverse engineer the entire galaxy

7) people here know FAR too much about 80s tv

8) report bugs, don't assume someone else has, report them! in particular, re: instancing issues (are you listening fuel rats?) if you fail to get into an instance with someone and can submit netlogs from both parties, please do it!

9) every single person here is awesome (if I've spoken to you today then I especially mean you)

10) almost everything the community has asked for is either "on the list"(tm) or "something we've talked about"(tm) with the exception of slaves deprived of life support turning into sausages which, according to Michael, probably won't be happening now.

11) Michael's Cthulu axe is heavy!

12) Deal or No deal is a TERRIBLE format for a game show

13) we're getting some sort of in game flight log/journal thingy

14) the API is being improved (pretty sure I heard that somewhere)

15) passenger missions will involve scannable location markers (a bit like the current planetary body/USS/ship scanning model we have now) to prove you've been there

16) there's definitely something coming soon(tm) related to a question about current lack of variety in coriolois space stations (M. Brookes) ... to be announced at Gamescon if I recall correctly

17) M. Brookes can stay up later than me

18) 41 minutes is more than enough time to spend trying to remember what I've learned for you guys ... I've been up since 5am and desperately need to sleep

EDIT: oh, and one more ... NEVER agree to play a role in Dockers without checking the script first.

Presenting a star of Saturday night late entertainment, host of an unbranded gameshow featuring lots of red boxes (not in any way related to those seen on the Christmas livestream), the one and only Ed Noelmonds: (apologies for picture quality!)

It has been pointed out that Ed happened to be conveniently standing in front of a green screen, so I look forwrad to seeing what the community can make of that (cue evil grin). :D

Well done and thank you to all the organisers and participants at Lavecon this year.

Oh yes, What has the country come to in the last 20 years?

I asked one of the restaurant staff for a toothpick....

"I'm sorry sir, but we cannot provide toothpicks for health and safety reasons"
<facepalm>

Good to have met you! Are you going to come to another one?

Yes it was great to put faces to names, even if some of those were not the faces I was expecting to see :D

If I can I will get to more, It doesn't look like I'll be able to this year for Gamescon etc with holiday commitments but I'll see what I can sort out next year...
