A voyage to the Abyssal Plain

I've recently returned to the bubble, after finishing my expedition to the Abyssal Plain (a North-Westerly point of the Scutum-Centaurus Arm).

This had been my longest venture into the black so far. During this time I've traveled to my furthest point ever from Sol (60k ly), and discovered a POI that's now on EDSM (Elite Dangerous Star Map) :)

Like so many of you, I love being out among the stars, nebulae, planets, rings etc. The galaxy that FD has created, is a great work. And I hope it will be made an even brighter and wonderous place for explorers in future.

What I laughed about was that I can actually see my route back on your first image! Ahhhh the road less travelled :)

Congratulations on your safe return and "having" an entry in the POI database of the EDSM. :)

That rough outlining of the Scutum-Centaurus arm you can see there? That's me, that is. The rest of my trip so far is pretty much obscured.

Nice trip commander! I flew home from the DWE along the Abyssal Plains a few months ago, here was my route:

It certainly was solitary out there. I'll go back again one day.

I noticed two other traces on EDD, going through that region. I knew that you'd been there just before me.
I agree, it is a solitary kind of place. It's sheer remoteness is probably why it won't have hoardes of ships coming through any time soon.
I hear that there is a full expedition to the Plain, being planned by the Galactic Mapping Project, towards the end of the year.
