Hello new Universe!

Hello new Universe!

Just got the Premium Beta! I've been waiting 44 years for this game and now it's here! Feel like a kid again. Isn't it an awesome time to be alive?

See you all out there in the new universe someday, somewhere and somehow! :D

44 years?! I thought waiting 20 years was long, but that's when I first realised Elite: Dangerous was the game I wanted. (I didn't know it was called that back then of course and I honestly didn't expect it to be made by David Braben and that it would be an official Elite game either )

Welcome! :)

Welcome back Commander!

Astonishing number of veterans, bless the Elite Legend! I concur; Dangerous is shaping up to justify the wait, specifically 44 years, wow! Kudos and thank you for your continued loyalty.

Take care and Elite!

I too have waited 44 years, lol, well it feels that long since my Elite addiction began on the C64. Yet looking at David Braben he's still a young man! How is that possible? Makeup? Surgery? DNA cloning? Time travel?

Joking aside, it has been a long while and many a month during that wait I'd google, well, this was pre-google, so I'd search Compuserve, CIX, usenet and so on... and not a peep except the die-hard fans and the occasional rumour.

So back to the now, I'm elated that Premium Beta will be here within a day or two, and although due to personal scheduling conflicts I'm unlikely to get to play it until middle of next week, I'm super-impressed that the game is being made with such a quick pace and high production quality. It looks absolutely fantastic and the alpha 1 combat build was plenty enough to keep me happy over the past few weeks.

Seems funny for a grown man to become excited in anticipation for a computer game but that's how it is (an enthusiasm rivaled only by the Dark Souls game series).

Looking forward to exploring the stars.

Greetings Commander! Glad you could make it, your ship awaits.

Welcome on board. Wave when you fly by.

I haven't been this excited about a game since way back when I bought issue one of Zzap64 (That I still have) and read the review of the soon to be released C64 version of Elite. I pre-purchased the game right away and couldn't wait for its release.
